Story and video: Mustangs react to new Moody

Postby PonyPride » Tue Dec 31, 2013 11:41 am

The SMU men's basketball team finally got to practice last week in newly renovated Moody Coliseum in preparation for Saturday's game against the Connecticut Huskies. Two of the Mustangs who played in the old Moody, Cannen Cunningham and Nick Russell, as well as head coach Larry Brown, visited with PonyFans.com to discuss the new-look arena, including how the light, sound and even the floor itself will differ from those in the previous version.

Did they have Butch Moore and/or Carl Wright's picture there? If not they should be there.

Honestly, I'm not sure. I know I saw a picture of Moore, but that doesn't mean Wright is not also up there. Plus, I didn't shoot everything in the building. I went through the Hall of Fame and the Hall of Fame Club, but there are a lot of other images around the arena — some are on the walls themselves (i.e. above the concession stands, etc.), and there are sport-specific alcoves around the arena with pictures of just men's basketball or just women's basketball or just volleyball or just spirit squads.

I also saw the locations for the four kiosks (one in each corner of the concourse) where beer will be sold, but they weren't set up yet, so I didn't film them.

Thanks, I was hoping they had their pictures were in the Hall of Fame and Hall of Fame Club areas as the are deserving of that for sure.

No argument here. I didn't see them play for SMU, but based on everything I have heard and read, I would readily agree with you.
