Morris: what I'm trying to show you is that you've got folks in your camp that are just as disgusted with the Bears' performance as there are folks in SMU's camp who are disgusted with the Mustangs' performance. It's tit-for-tat.

Those comments contradict each other. And if you're THAT confident in your Bears, why aren't you betting EVERYTHING you own? At least we don't have alumni who cheer for the opposing teams! My former boss is a Baylor alum. He used to write BIG checks to your university and attend the football games. Because of your poor showing in the Big 12 in recent years and the coaches that you've hired for the football program - specifically Guy Morris - he doesn't do that anymore. He lives in Waco. On game days when the Bears are at home, he'll go to the tailgate parties and have a good time partying with everyone else. But come kick-off time, he stays outside of Floyd Casey Stadium. He hopes & prays that the other team will win so that someone in the Baylor administration will have the balls to fire Guy Morris. But it hasn't happened...and my friend continues to drink. BEAT THE HELL OUTTA BAYLOR!
I can totally understand that attitude during the Steele years, but not Morriss. He was EPSNs SEC Coach of the Year before he came to Baylor, and he's making improvements each year. Your friend is what's wrong with the Baylor fanbase, not what's right.

Actually he was not suggesting it was wrong OR right, just typical.

Didn't Morriss leave Kentucky because he was afrad they were about to get busted by the NCAA? Maybe that had something to do with the turn around up there.

Kentucky got busted when he was an assistant. Mumme got canned b/c he cheated so Morriss took over. Morriss had to deal with probation and attrition due to the penalties, but in spite of that they went 7-4 in his 2nd year (8-3 if not for that miraculous LSU hail mary).
So, no he did not leave b/c of the cheating. He won at KU in spite of the penalties enforced due to cheating by the previous coach. He came to Baylor b/c we paid him 1.1 million. He's shown signs and I think our big investment pays off this year.

Gee...this is almost like the good 'ol days of the SWC...one topic fussing about the merits of aTm/ut quarterbacks...another counting ( hoping/praying ) on a win against the frogs...
JUST LIKE ONE BIG, HAPPY FAMILY in the old SWC...nevertheless...

So in other words he won with the players that had been gained through cheating. As an assistant he would have been party to what was going on. After the Bliss mess I would be a little leary of a coach that came from a program that had problems with NCAA violations.

purse-fight involving Morriss, aisle 3...
just a note...I wouldn't talk Death Penalty too much around here...most of us were SMU fans ( and still are ) back then, and NOONE DIED...on the other hand, Baylor's version of the Death Penalty...well...

Didn't Baylor's basketball program just get the living death penalty. I thought so. Don't talk to us about death penalties, if the NCAA were still giving those out, you would have joined us on the list.

Patrick Dennehy used to have a pulse too right?
