Is there a time limit as to how long a player can be on the practice squad - i.e 2-3 years?

The Patriots announced Ja'Gared Davis has been promoted from the practice squad to the active roster today.

Hopefully he will be active Saturday night. He is expected to help fill the void of Brandon Spikes.
