ECU building a practice facility

Should help them recruit and develop players as they come into the AAC. It is 48,000 square feet. Crum is 43,000.

They still have to convince people go to the middle of nowhere for a third tier education. Imagine UNT 90 miles South of Abilene.

Can't even begin to compare Greenville NC to a place like Abilene (where my son was stationed in the Air Force for 4 years). I grew up in Dallas, but living in the SE has made me come to appreciate the area. ECU is a good conference mate for us and they have strong fan support...something the AAC really needs to offset the likes of SMU and Tulane. I like the commitment I'm seeing from ECU

Actually he compared it to a place 90 miles south of Abilene. Not sure if that makes it better or worse in your eyes.

I've seen Abilene and would prefer Greenville myself...but to then say 90 miles south of Abilene...suggests you would prefer San Angelo to Greenville? To each his own, but I will take trees and proximity to water over west Texas any day. Either way, it's small town living but Greenville also becomes a "college town" for 8-9 months of the year. Much like Clemson or Auburn. Just a personal preference. Not everyone likes living in Dallas or Atlanta. Don't get me wrong...I grew up in Dallas and loved it there...but I find the older I get, the more I appreciate smaller cities/towns as a place to live everyday and the "city" becomes a nice place to visit. I just don't like fighting overcrowded conditions everyday.

Greenville also had the nicest people and fans I've ever come across as a visiting fan. They were really nice and friendly, even after doing us the courtesy of losing in OT.

I agree with that. Plus, there were a whole lot of people in the cold rain the day after thanksgiving for a game.

1) to the extent that my post was interpreted at a shot at Greenville (or Any other rural area) I apologize. When I retire, I plan on finding a nice place to retire. If we don't return to Texas for family reasons, rural NC, SC and Eastern TN are at the top of our list. In particular, my wife and I love Asheville. If I had won that $300M lottery, I would already have a vacation cabin in the area.

2) I think that it will be difficult to get top recruits, who are often city kids, to pick them.
