The SMU game notes say the announcers were Jason Benetti and Brooke Weisbrod.

Well if we are going to have a female announcer I would want her to be a wise broad.

Umm no. Boo everybody and everything. Smu needs more intimidation, less concerns w class. Ultimately, Smerkins gets it. It's was really clear, even to those on tv, we're a very green crowd. Don't know when to cheer, what to cheer etc.

lol, it was kinda of funny. Definitely a country club setting, it was loud, at points but sounded way too respectful on TV (or my phone rather).

Very sad that my Huskies were embarrassed, but so happy for SMU!!! Just a great start to the new Moody. Haven't hear the end of it from my daughter. She has been rubbing it in all night. Now I can go back to cheering for SMU until the game at Gampel.

That's what I kept saying. Students and fans in general need to learn how to yell and chant great things at the right time.

See you at Gampel. I'll finally have a reason to visit Storrs.

I was in section 110 or behind the basket where Uconn was shooting in the first half. There weren't many students behind me but there was a good amount of sae's to my right and every time I tried to start any kind of chant they wouldn't pick it up. Not tooting my own horn as the majority of my chants were d-fense and oooooo in the first half and S-m-u in the second half; but the majority of my section, the closest to the court, wouldn't pick it up. I heard them in the rafters before I heard the people next to me most of the time. The mob was good but they weren't starting chants either. It was the cheerleaders on the other side of the court by the band and the people getting rowdy on the second level who were holding down the noise-making.

The students that this school attracts just don't start chants, idk what it is. I honestly think it will take a school-wide event or SOMETHING to give the student body some confidence in the sports program or at least some sort of creative-uniqueness to get out of their g.d-selves.

Good win nonetheless and thank you to all those who came out and helped the student body out. On a personal level, I appreciate it. It was loud as hell in there today. And more fun than any Smu game I've ever been to in my three years here. Cheers.

Where I was sitting, there were a few UConn fans, quit SMU fans and a bunch of groups of grade-school aged kids. The Kids chanted and cheered on big plays, UConn fans clapped and politely cheered on good UConn plays, And SMU fans were enthused but very much the rookies when it comes to cheering.

And I would include me in that. Loved the game but was unsure of chants, key times in the game to pick it up cheering wise, and a bit concerned about appearing obnoxious to the UConn guest.

It will take tme but I wuld hope the band and cheer squads could start to coordinate more and experiment with cheers and chants so we can start developing 'traditions' for our fans to get into the game and cheer at the key moments.

For me in football, while I was on the field, I never heard or even noticed the crowd (home or away). Basketball is much more intmate with the crowd right on the court. I do feel our players feed off the crowds enthusiasm yesterday. If we fans can get our act together, we could turn Moody into the "Friendly Deathh Valley" of the AAC.

This is not a criticism but an observation. Sitting in section 215 we could not hear the cheers the cheerleaders would start. When one group finally caught on, the rest of us picked up the same chant. It might help if the megaphones turned in different directions around the coliseum, instead of all facing the court, so that we could pick up the chants
It makes sense to me.

did they not use the video board for basic S-M-U and DE-FENSE cheers? That's an easy (and best) way to get those started
