GO MUSTANGS!
Re: No Mas Johnny
![]() Just how big is the stick up your butt? If he was playing and doing this for SMU you would be lapping it up talking about how he may be the greatest SMU player since Doak. It has nothing to do with him coming from money. It isn't a money gesture. If doing a team wide celebratory gesture that was being used before he ever played a down is your definition of classless you are nothing but a sad old man yelling at kids to get off your lawn while looking for things to get pissed off about. Go watch Fox and Friends or Morning Joe if you want to fill your gullet with media induced hyperbolic faux outrage. College football is still a game where fun and emotion should be present.

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.
Re: No Mas JohnnyWhat do my feelings have to do with his repeated jack-arse behavior? Let's put it this way: talent aside, I wouldn't be proud if my son did that on a field. Rice did that gesture to his face and Manziel absolutely flipped out...of course it's a taunt. "He did it in HS. He did it before he won the Heisman. Molina did it too. Everyone does it. It's a generational-thing." Blah blah blah. He's a talented punk, who acts like a fool on the field.
It must kill Aggie fans that their golden boy has a longhorn tattoo...
Re: No Mas JohnnyFour or five of our friends kids that go to A&M all say he is a jerk, not well liked on campus and are ready for him to leave. Having stated this, these kids in no way speak for every student on campus but I thought their comments were interesting being that they are students.
GO MUSTANGS!
Re: No Mas JohnnyYou guys are a bunch of drama queens. Bottom line, kid can play and that is all that counts. He is also a motivator. Baring injury he will be great NFL QB. BTW, I hate the aggies but have loved watching Johnny play the game.

Long live the Circle of Champions!
Re: No Mas Johnny
really? Wow GO MUSTANGS!
Re: No Mas Johnny
![]() First off, you seem to not even know what taunting is. A team wide hand gesture that is almost always done when looking at their own fans and team members after big plays is not a taunt. Sorry, it just isn't. If A&M players were running up to opposing players faces and doing it after scores you may have a point. But they aren't. Here is Johnny trying to get the A&M crowd back into the game vs Duke. Nowhere does he do the gesture to the crowd that you refuse to acknowledge is not a money gesture. No, let's just ignore the fact that even the A&M yell leaders were concerned and openly saying to sideline reporters that Duke fans seemed to be louder than the shell shocked A&M fans in the first half, Johnny was just being a showboat. Yea, that's the ticket. It couldn't possibly be that he was trying to rally them around the team at all. http://youtu.be/UjVkYHLRURM?t=2m55s That isn't what happened in the Rice game at all BTW. At no time did Rice players do the "not a money gesture" to his face. He chirped back at some players when he first got in and then later on he got a penalty for turning around and pointing up at the scoreboard when a couple of Rice players who had been talking trash all game were chirping at him after he had just put them up 52-28. That gesture BTW was never even talked about (or called a money symbol) by ESPN or sports media until AFTER the Rice game. This was long after ESPN decided Johnny was the anti-Tebow and pushed Darren Rovell's [deleted] reporting during the off season. Yes, Darren Rovell, the same crack reporter who was writing about how NBA escorts were losing money during the last strike and it turned out his "source" was a high school kid he never met with a twitter account who was simply seeing if he could get a reporter to fall for a prank. Kid is well off and posts pics of himself and friends at sporting events and concerts just like everyone else these days does b/c Facebook/Twitter/Instagram/whatever are the evolution of the family scrapbook? OH NOES!!! He is lucky enough to be famous enough that other athletes are willing to take pics with him? OH NOES!!! His parents can afford to get him a used Mercedes like many an SMU student? OH NOES!!! He has the audacity to go to the biggest frat party of the year at Texas that some of his friends invited him to and walked away after a coward threw a beer at him behind his back? OH NOES!!! Way to fall hook line and sinker for manufactured outrage pushed by an entertainment company that follows the current TV model of selling outrage and hyperbole pretending to be analysis to move the needle. And come on now you wouldn't be proud of your kid tearing defenses a new butthole b/c he is willing talk back to defenders who are absolutely talking trash to him (like all football teams do in game with each other)? ![]() Last edited by dr rc on Fri Jan 03, 2014 5:40 pm, edited 2 times in total.
Re: No Mas JohnnyReally enjoy watching Manziel play. Yeah, he acts like a [deleted] sometimes but how about the first person on here who didn't act like a [deleted] in college throws the first stone?

Re: No Mas JohnnyCowboys path to greatness:
1) hire Briles or Sumlin 2) Install a zone read based spread offense 3) Draft JM to be your number 1 QB, get Vick as your number 2, VY number 3 and Tebow number 4. 4) Run your zone read offense. Let your QBs get hurt and just rotate through them as they go down. Tebow can be carried as a fourth QB because he plays backup TE and special teams. This opens your draft pool to a larger group of players because you will consistently be able to draft OL, QB and WR who are well suited to the spread offense and potentially not a fit for more traditional NFL offenses
Re: No Mas Johnny
ECM, I can not argue your point. Luckily I was an angel during my college years but don't ask my parents. lol. My view has always been, yes he was an immature college kid who did stupid things and with today's social media everything is magnified. But he would do something stupid and it appeared he would not learn from it or cared. He was a Heisman winner, whether he liked it or not he was playing by a different set of rules. It did appear someone finally got thru to him about his off field antics because he has kept a pretty low profile since the fall. GO MUSTANGS!
Re: No Mas Johnny
This. Since he's an Aggie, he's a POS. If he was a Mustang, we'd be bros. Just sayin'. ![]()
Re: No Mas JohnnyAs a Football Player Johnny Football is a leader, a winner, and has an incredibly high Football IQ. I am just surprised that the media has not picked up on the history of the Johnny Manzel's Family. I believe it was his grandfather or great grandfather who actually paid of someone to go to jail for him after murdering a man years ago. Why does the media not tell the real Johnny Manzel Story? I know it is not his fault that his Grandfather or Great Grandfather did what he did, but let's be honest, the story of paying off a man to go to jail for him is just one of many stories that could be told about the Manzel Family.
