Suites Are the Place to Be

SMU got a lot of bang for those 47 million bucks it poured into the renovation of the venerable Moody Coliseum sports facility. The people who provided that bang turned out for last weekend’s thrill-ride first game when SMU downed UConn.

For the big donors, the place to be was either in the new Hall of Fame Club or in one of the dozen private suites overlooking the court. It’s worth noting that those suites are 30 feet closer to the floor than the lowest row of suites at the American Airlines Center....

The kind we need in Dallas. Socialites and celebs spotted at moody!

Can't tell you how many non-SMU non-sports friends have asked me how the game was and if I have any tix available. Crazy.

I live over 5,000 miles away from Dallas and I considered getting season tickets just so I could get in before the masses. If things fall into place, I think Moody will be a tough ticket.

People are coming out of the woodwork asking me if I have a spare ticket.

Feels good.

You mean as opposed to going a cpl games over .500 then beating Nevada in front of dozens of rowdy smu fans thousands of miles from home?

I posted several pics of my son and I on facebook at the UConn game and had several PM's from people asking me if I ever needed someone for a game to call them.
These are the same people for years I would call and they were always to busy.

Our fans have always been there. They just needed a reason to come to the games - & now they do.

If only football looked at it that way - the common sense, business way.
BRING BACK THE GLORY DAYS OF SMU FOOTBALL!!!

For some strange reason, one of the few universities that REFUSE to use their school colors: Harvard Crimson & Yale Blue.

You are being entirely too rational. 8)
SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.
