Is a player I'm starting to like a lot. IMO, he's exactly the type of player/scorer we need. He's a 2015, 6'7" forward out of Plano East. He can score from anywhere on the floor. Long, athletic and can shoot lights out from distance. Rivals has him as a 4-star ranked #49 in the class holding offers from SMU, Arizona, Baylor, K-State, ND, UT, A&M, UCLA, Oregon and Missouri. He was at the UConn game and had great things to say about SMU. Scout has a good story on his visit. I believe are at the top of his list and have a great shot at getting him. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=y4vzP8PmK0ghttp://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0OXFv2enj2Mhttp://m.youtube.com/watch?v=w5iNSPAa6y4

Man, it was sure great having all those top prospects at Moody, and what a shining moment it was! I'm definitely going to be seeking out a lot of local high school games in the next few months.

I think we have a great chance of recruiting one or a few of those kids out of Plano West.
I played basketball at Plano Senior High a few years ago so I'm very familiar with the program. This year, Plano West is stacked because they received a few transfers who all Play on the same AAU team. DJ Hogg and Soso Jamobo were always in the Plano West system but Tyler Davis, Mickey Mitchell, and Avery Jones Jr. all transfered in this year. Both Tyler Davis and Mickey Mitchell play on the Texas Titans with DJ and Soso, so now they all play together year round. Mickey Mitchell went to Prestonwood Christian Academy last year where he played with Julius Randle (also a Texas Titans player and now a top freshman at Kentucky, assured lottery pick in this year's draft). Once Julius left I guess Mickey thought it would be convenient to transfer to Plano West. Tyler Davis on the other hand was not as fortunate. He transfered from a public Frisco High School and the school district ruled him ineligible due to transfer rules that state you can't transfer for athletic purposes. He had knee surgery this past year, however, and was likely going to miss most of the season anyway. Avery Johnson Jr. is the son of former Mavericks coach Avery Johnson, and once he got fired by the Nets I guess he moved back to Dallas and settled in Plano.
Unfortunatley, Mickey (the best player out of all of them in my opinion) has already to committed to Ohio State where his older brother is on the football team. I think we have a good shot at getting DJ and Tyler though, which would be a big deal as they are both top 50 juniors (according to rivals). I've seen both of them play and DJ is a really good and a player I'd love to have at SMU. He's tall, decently athletic, and his strength is his outside shooting, something our team is desperately lacking. Tyler on the other hand right now appears to be a top recruit because he's enormous. He really isn't that skilled yet, but just physically overpowers kids at the high school level. The fact that he's already had a knee surgery at his age also concerns me, but maybe he can transform his bodu (a la Markus Kennedy) to make himslef more athletic. Avery Johnson Jr. isn't an elite recruit, but his name is usually thrown into these conversations because of who his dad is.

By the way if you're looking for a Plano West game to attend, Plano plays Plano West at Plano West this upcoming Tuesday, January 14th. Unfortunatley as I mentioned before, Tyler Davis is ineligible but DJ Hogg should be the focal point of their offense especially because Mickey Mitchell is currently out with a herniated disc in his back.
