Could've gotten a better overhead picture, but still cool nonetheless.

I stepped on the seal my first day freshmen year, and I graduated. BOO YAH

Shouldn't this thread be in "Around the Hilltop"?

Anyway, the pic they used was from when they were renovating the roof of Dallas Hall a few years ago.

Here's another view - an even older shot, so to speak...

Right up there with Harvard, Yale, and Virginia. Not a bad notice.

Also listed as one of the 20 best college campuses in the US. SMU # 13.

SMU's first president, Robert S. Hyer, selected Harvard Crimson and Yale Blue as SMU's colors to symbolize SMU's high academic standards. We are one of the few Universities to have school colors with real meaning...and we just blow them off.

Yes, this belongs in "Around the Hilltop," but thanks for posting here. I almost never look at AtH.

As for Harvard, iconic I will give you, but beautiful, not so much. Grass just doesn't do well when it meets New England weather and a student body that doesn't know what "Stay Off" means.

Yale's courtyards are nice because most of them are enclosed. Of course, they are enclosed (you need a key to get inside) because there is an enormous crime problem in New Haven. When my sister was there, they had a running gun battle in the middle of campus.
Do unto others before they do unto you!!
