I am interested to see the attendance tonight. Anecdotal, but these guys would be classified as casual fans, so if they are buying, then it is a good sign.

My reference to casual fan isn't intended to be an insult. More of a reference to the process of becoming a more dedicated fan.

You make a good point CMF.

I didn't take it as such. They are interested in SMU, but unlike myself, will not put their life on hold to see every game. Casual is a good description. We need the casual fans to get interested so they come when they can.

Both these guys have been to maybe 1 or 2 games in the last 3 years. We get guys like this coming and then coming back, we will be on to something. I think it is happening now. Of course, I am a bball sunshiner, so my viewpoint may be skewed.

By the way, there is no such thing as a dumpster fire opponent in this league.

Bringing a non-SMU affiliated Dallasite friend who approached me about going to the game. He's heard about Larry Brown and the recent success.

"Due to the enthusiastic response from our student body, the allotment of additional complimentary tickets for tonight’s Men’s Basketball game has been exhausted. Students who still wish to attend tonight’s game may purchase a ticket at half of face value ($6/$10) at the Moody Coliseum Ticket Window, which will open at 5 p.m."

- from an email just sent out to us students.

Looks like the student section will be full

Are tickets really complementary for students? I seem to remember having to pay some sort of Athletics fee when I was a student. In grad school, UT definitely had an extra fee.

All undergrad students have an athletics fee included in their annual fees. Grad students must pay the athletics fee separately from their annual fees.

All students who have paid their athletics fee receive complimentary tickets to any SMU sporting event.

Hope there is a good crowd. Waiting for my son to pick me up and we will head in from East Texas. Bringing one of my grandsons with us. Hope he has a great time. He played his first BB game last Saturday ( 10 yrs old ) and it was a hoot.
When will I start feeling stimulated??

I think it will be a good crowd but not at the beginning. Many don't get off work until after 6...hoping to get off early
