Is the point of the sport for a fan for their team to have success on the court or to make a lot of money? If my team sucks I will not enjoy it no matter how much the tv contract is. They do not give me a cut of the money.

With how much Marquette's AD was whining and running his mouth after Tulane was invited (you know, that super-secret double handshake wink-wink power play by RGT to get his buddy in to a better conference at the expense of his own school's athletic standing over the vetoes of EVERY other school), I would delight in seeing them fade away in to marginal obscurity and meager TV deals from here on out.

I can confirm that. Most Uconn fans don't remember that SMU and UH were very competitive in BB when we played in the sWc. My Uconn co-workers were shocked to see the Huskies go "o-fer" on a Texas swing.

We added TULANE!! What did you expect him to say? The only schools that the Big East should have added were SMU and UCF! But noooo, let's go ahead and add Houston, Tulsa, Tulane and ECU and make this CUSA 2.0....good job AAC...you single handedly caused Louisville, Rutgers, Syracuse, Maryland, Pitt and West Virginia to leave and TCU, Boise State and San Diego state to back out. Oh and you didn't sign that deal with ESPN which would have paid Big East schools $14M and kept the conference together. In fact if this scenario would have happened...maybe SMU would have been added to the BIg 12 since TCU would have joined Big East conference... We have to stop bringing TULANE and all these CUSA schools like Houston with us. We have to carve our own path, even if it means leaving the AAC for the MWC while we get ready to join another conference. Seriously, this irritates me, and I cannot wait until we get picked up by the Big 12 conference and leave all these schools behind.

Your bit is so incredibly tired. Go back to the football board. Our OC quit, so go give your thoughts on that over there. Plus, you're supposed to login as Stand Up when you post on the bball board.

SMU has been on SportsCenter (win over UCONN) and AAC teams regularly featured on SC and get good ESPN time slots (like MEM/UCONN last nite before new 30 for 30). Can't remember hearing anything about Big East. You are dead to ESPN if they don't air your games. More money would be nice, but the exposure is wonderful.

Houston was with SMU and UCF on the first round of Big East additions along with Navy. Tulane, Tulsa, and ECU were added a year later. FYI.

I know that, Reb, point I am trying to make is that we keep getting moved with the same group of teams that we should stop "hanging out" with. I want OU, Texas Tech, TCU, UT, the pokes and Baylor as conference mates, not ECU, Tulsa, Tulane, or Houston.

When are you going to pay off your Chad Morris bet with Blackout and Centex? You should not be able to post until you pay up.

I would sacrifice my bar tab, for the good of the board, if he just stopped all together.
