Speaking of shot clock, in the 50's SMU was so dominating in the SWC that one team (I think it was TCU) tried just holding on to the ball and not ever shooting in an effort to stop SMU from scoring. I think the final score was something like 22-10 SMU.

According to the trustworthy SMU basketball factbook, in 1955-6 SMU defeated TCU 105-64 at home. In the game later that season in Ft. Worth SMU indeed did only prevail 26-22.

Pretty funny, actually.

That year, of course, was the year we went 12-0 in the SWC and advanced to the Final Four.
