June doesn't want to stay here any more than many of you want him here. But he's not leaving millions on the table to get to Hawaii a bit earlier. He's done when his contract stops paying him -- or when a reasonable (read $300K buyout) can be accomplished. That six win scenario above wouldn't keep him here, wouldn't cause anyone to re-up his contract -- and even then no guarantee he'd sign a true extension.

We did have a lot of questions to answer in the 2013 team: Inexperienced secondary and d-line, Oline in flux and inexperienced, no running game. Hopefully the adjustments are made and we keep those games competitive or win.

SUGGESTION TO ALL THOSE WANTING TO MAKE STATEMENT:

Don't stop going to football games-that solves nothing and simply hurts the long term perception of the program at a time that it simply is too late in the game to making "attendance statements"

BUT make your statement by boycotting this recruiting circus show. Let's see if we can get attendance cut in half. Hell there are better sources of recruiting information anyway than what June saw on film one day after the recruit with no other offers committed to one of the coaches on his staff. Make a "This recruiting class is unacceptable statement" to June at a event concerning recruiting. Don't go. Here's your boycott. Get it out of your system
"With a quarter of a tank of gas, we can get everything we need right here in DFW." -SMU Head Coach Chad Morris

When momentum starts rolling downhill in recruiting-WATCH OUT.

Stallion- agree w/ you on not boycotting games. That sends a terrible message to our student athletes who work very hard

But- if there's any type of Q&A session or chance to talk to JJ at the signing day event, I'd love to ask him why this class is by far his worst in 6 years at SMU

It will be advertized as one on the best classes since the DP. They will probably use ESPN's overinflated ratings and forget that about half the class only has SMU as their only D1A offer.

I agree on both counts. Boycotting games is cutting off your nose to spite your face.

I can understand the desire to skip the recruiting thing, but I will go if I am able. If nothing else, entertaining to see the inane things he says.

I don't know about 300K, but my understanding is it's a manageable buyout after 2014 season.

I was on the fence, but if Stallion says it's okay not to go...I feel relieved

I still laugh when I think about you going after him on overhead projector day.

Thank you. It is nice to know I played a part, however small, in the development of that meme.

Just got the email from MC.

Event will be held at MEC in Moody and simulcast to the Hilton Post Oak in Houston. Interesting...
