Ok let me intervene. We are one of the top defensive teams in the country based on the stats from the games we played. We have definitely been consistently good on defense whether the opposition is top 20 or not. We will see if it holds up for the rest of the season, but based on what we have seen so far, it will.

We may not be #1 in the country (and are not), but we will make it tough for anyone we play. That won't change, and if we lose it will be because of our offense, not our defense.

How's that Cox and LA.

T, you're a great fan and a really great guy! Glad I've had the chance to meet you. That said, there's nothing to mediate. It's all on me, I'm just not a good match for the SMU fan base. I'll always follow the team, but way better fans deserve my seats.

Oh common. You are great - just a little more objective than most of us. You know your hoops and as your other adopted team we are glad to have you. The more you post the more we learn.

I pretty much quit on hoops about 1995 so I am just now getting back up to speed. Plus as you know, boards, like bars are made for arguing. It would be really boring if we all agreed.

So F Kansas. ; )

It was a misunderstanding about whether just should be defined as "very recently, in the immediate past" or "simply; only; no more than" which are the 2nd and 4th adverb definitions for just according to google. Do not take it as a judgment on your fit as a fan. You fit in great now that you know whether moody seats have seat backs or not.

Oh come on now. We were just going back and forth about something a message board about a basketball topic. Nothing personal. How does that make you not a match with the SMU fan base? And make you want to give up your seats? My god this board can be so sensitive at times. You're probably more of a match for the typical SMU fan than I am.

God, I hope I don't come off as that much of a drama queen. F-bomb me all day long, I don't give a crap. I'm not too sensitive, and those on other boards know that before I canceled them I would post under my real name with my complete contact info. I may be a [deleted], but I'm not a thin-skinned one.

I'm just coming off my tour representing Cox in a small capacity so I had to keep it pretty clean. I'm fell flat on my face trying to think and speak about SMU in the plural first person sense. My bad. I'll just convert to second/third and move right along.

Now on to FAR more important matters...

Really we are all a match. A bunch of misfits. There really is an odd ball collection of guys on ponyfans.

Now back to defense. We are pretty darn good. It reminds me of when the godfather had his press conference and that is one of the first thing he mentioned.

Our D really covers for some other deficiencies. I would always prefer a good D with a mediocre offense than an a great offense with an Ole defense. Like the Mavs in the old days.

My wife had two different people spill beer on her in the first half of the UConn game. Granted, one of them was me and that was 2 minutes in.
