Quick Change is one of the best halftime acts around! Props to SMU for bringing them in, although I wish they would've publicized it a little more. And I only say that because Quick Change was at TCU the night before and they sent out an email blast about it.

I'm all about the product on the court and not necessarily all the other bells & whistles, but as long as we're trying to win over the Dallas crowd and get a larger following, it takes a full experience to keep them coming back (i.e. the complete opposite of an SMU football game).

I agree that Mavs games are over the top, but it's an event the entire family can enjoy even if not everyone is into basketball.

The game experience has been amazing this year. A big part of the improved experience is having a good exciting team to watch and having some rowdy students in there to make sure it's loud.

With that said the tv time out activities, halftime shows, dance cam, PA guy, music selection ect, all help too and are important. SMU needs to put out a product that attracts non-smu general sports fans. Having these kind of extra's make the games really fun for kids between 6-10. These kids have a great time and in turn become SMU fans. Parents then enjoy having a cheap family friendly option to entertain their kids and become fans to. This is how over the long term you become a small school that can attract 4500+ fans for every home game. 4500+ for every game in Moody will give SMU a great home court advantage and experience.

we will average over 4,500 in moody this year pretty easily I think. We have home games remaining of Houston, Cinn, Louisville, Memphis and Rutgers - all will be at or near sell out.

Announced attendance last night was over 6K I think. Obviously not that many butts in seats but we should average around 6,000 this seaosn I think if you're just talking about the games at Moody

Kids that go to these games look like they are having a blast this year-and kids bring parents to games :D Maybe just haven't noticed it as much before but this year with HD video screen its obvious.

Agreed. The people at PonyUpTV are doing a fantastic job with the in-game presentation.

The guy behind me (who maybe on PF?) was there with his young son. The kid was totally into the game asking questions about our players. I could tell he loved it. We couldn't ask for a better game experience - a competitive team with entertaining videos/acts/contests during stoppage without being small time.

It's like a mini Mavs game...crowds will come. Great ideas and great game experience AND SMU actually winning is a bonus!

I predict by the end of this season we just aren't going to be able to deal with everything - which is awesome.

Hopefully the place is legitimately over 6k tomorrow night.

I say we come very close to a sellout-with students back. Tuesday nite-I think we start getting some repeat fans who have checked us out and had fun. Hofstra was not a good comparison.
