Re: SMU tournament shoutout in the DMNI was born and raised in Memphis. No one there cares about UT. It might as well be in another country. It's all tigers (and some ole miss with a little arky thrown in, but it's mostly all tigers regardless of how good / bad they are). bad comparison, though, as it's a large public school in a small city.
Re: SMU tournament shoutout in the DMN
You missed my point. We are the local school and they are the DALLAS Morning News NOT the TEXAS Morning News. Shouldn't matter how good/bad we are. The local paper should be covering local sports. We are very rarely ever seen anywhere on that site. If you demand excellence at our school, we must also demand journalistic integrity from the media that's supposed to be covering us. AND, I've been around the sun enough times to know it's all about advertising/impressions. Just don't be hypocritical is all I'm saying (the local "news" media that is . . . don't say you cover "local" news and then not do so).
Re: SMU tournament shoutout in the DMNTexas plays one game per year in Dallas that averages attendance (100,000) almost as much as SMU does with all of its home games combined (120,000). Hard to say they're not local.

Re: SMU tournament shoutout in the DMNI know I'm talking football relative to a basketball article, but we are a football state and that is what drives local media.
