Drive to the Galleria to see June (the individual who is the least inspiring person ever *in person*) speak on *video* from Dallas about the worst recruiting class we have seen in God only knows how long? I better register ASAP to get a spot!

Most everyone I have spoken to in Houston will not be attending.

I will try to be there, and I am neither of those things.

I saw in the email that they will be letting people tweet questions in for him. I am guessing they will filter the ones they have him answer, but I have a feeling that the tweets they do not use will be pretty entertaining.

You should do something more productive and fun like punching yourself in your own ball bag for two hours.

I don't see why people wouldn't want to go. Get the coaching staff's perspective on the recruiting class (yeah, it is a cheerleader event, but you always hear something interesting). Most importantly, hang out with your fellow Mustangs and talk football.

If you all recall, everyone was dogging last year's recruiting class as well, and it is actually going to turn out to be pretty decent.

If the recruiting has been as a bad as everyone claims, we are going to be 3-9 next year and June will be gone. Bailing on the program after one losing season doesn't do anybody any good. You don't have to show unwavering support, but running away doesn't help anything.

If you show up to these events and voice concerns to Bob Sharp and other people who will be present, that has a lot more impact than sitting at home on a computer complaining to the internet.

Here is a suggestion - get some moxie, sit together at the event, and ask some tough questions during Q&A. Don't be a disruptive, but ask some questions and see what the answers are. I would love to hear some of them answered. Instead of complaining about reporters not asking the right questions, this is an opportunity for you to get out from behind the desk and ask them yourselves.

Houston has a population of 2.2 million people. How many have you spoken to? I would imagine 99.9% of them will not be attending.

Last year the Houston event was held at Rice Stadium in their Owl Club (or whatever it's called). There were at most 25 people there so that's my guest why it's simulcast this year. June didn't show up either. We did get to talk to Phillips and Mason for a while, Kenny Hand made it and the Owl Club did have some interest value. The year before, I think at the Hilton Post Oak, probably 100 attended and June did come. The thought of a simulcast in a Hilton ballroom with maybe 20 people this year sounds miserable.

JasonB,

I've spoken to Hart both in person and via e-mail. He is going to give the same rationalizations and spin that you've seen over and over and over again. I'm sure he's a decent guy, but he has about as much personality and passion as a shrub. I don't need to go to this propaganda event to know that this recruiting class full of kids that barely have any other quality D1A offers is toilet water.

I'm all for silver linings but I'm not sure about that. JaBryce, Minor, D.Richardson, and Gaines look like they have some potential. Other than that, who knows? Add to that some June Junes special redshirt burns for a couple plays and I'm having trouble finding my rose colored glasses

Yeah I'm sure glad we burned Nate Halverson's redshirt. Boy did he ever contribute!

Is pretty decent going to be enough to win conference titles or games against relevant competition (hasn't so far)? If not then pretty decent is pretty useless to us.

Sounds like there will be a significant group of regular Ponyfans posters at the event on Feb 5th:

I would think most every team in the Country got more from its freshman class than SMU. They contributed less than most I can remember even at SMU. JaBryce contributed with spot plays here and there. Nothing consistent. Sanders had a big kickoff return. Gaines was a disappointment-Minor was a disappointment because he played so little although I still contend he had a high tackles/per play ratio.

Don't forget Jeremy Johnson as a 5th year senior next year wouldn't be beneficial at all to help the offense. And he was used so much as a true freshman. A whole catch!

I'll I am saying is that sitting behind a computer voicing concerns isn't going to get anything accomplished.

Go to the event, ask the position coaches what their thoughts are on recruiting. Tell Hart that you are concerned. Tell Bob Sharp that you are concerned. Tell the Mustang Club leadership that you are concerned. That will make a much bigger impact.
