LB "disappointed" in initial student turnout

Postby SmooBoy » Tue Jan 21, 2014 10:31 pm

Post-game interview with Alan Stone. He looked again later in the game and saw they had shown up. Figured they were late from "studying."

He said since they stand all game they can squeeze many more in the stands.

Obey the Godfather.

Just wait till Memphis comes in. It's a marked improvement from past 6 years I have been watching teams. Greek life needs to commit to the team.

Is it okay to mention that half the students behind the west basket left at halftime, or should we just be glad they showed up for the 1st half? I'm not sure what we can criticize?

Unfortunately, it's going to take a little time to get the students to show up every game and stay the whole game. The sad reality is that so many SMU fans and students are jaded... there's always the question of when everything is going to fall apart.

Fortunately, I don't see that happening with Coach Brown but people, especially students, are going to be cautiously optimistic for a little while.

Based on conversation my ladyfriend overheard in the In'N'Out line, the guys that left at half were the SAE pledges. At least they wore black?

i think he is on to something. Why did the Sigma Chi's have to be up the the stands when there was room behind the east basket - just cram everyone in on the lower bowl. Makes it more fun.

Black SMU shirts. Give them credit - they wore SMU attire.

You could easily see the SMU on the shirts as well. Good job SAE's. :D

They told my guys (Sigma Chi's) that up top was the only place they could go and all be together, but glad you guys noticed them!

They should be all getting tickets in the lower bowl together for the next allotment.

They were rowdy too. Need to get the Sigma Chi's in the lower area.

The entire lower section should be students, but it was nice to have some rowdiness up top. Blue hairs were so frustrated with the standing all game. I loved it.

It was a late arriving crowd overall - students and fans.
Looking forward to a Sat. game vs. Memphis.

somone needs to clue Larry in - we are not the show up 25 minutes early kind of place. Everyone will be there within 2 minutes of tip off one way or the other - so don't look around at warmups and judge the turnout.
