We're not that way yet...but with the encouragement of our hall of fame coach maybe that changes.

John Michael threw down a half dozen dunks in early warm ups that made me drop my jaw. Incredible.

Then I saw wilfong throw one down. Show up early. You're not that important.

I'm there early - its fun - but no need to worry about turnout early - its Dallas and people get there when they get there….

And they stayed and yelled till the end.

We suggested they stay until after the varsity. Very happy you guys have nice things to say. I will let them know.

I'm more disappointed that they are putting what seem to be 'friends of Smu/non season tickets/non-cheerers' or something behind the home bench and not students (I know there are recruits there, too, but not everyone). The separation of the three sections of students gives it a disjointed feel. There is rarely coordination amongst them all and then the cheerleaders do their own thing. Need to make the student section more unified avid contiguous. Put the 'guests' behind the visitors and unite the student sections.

They were great all night and got time on camera during Varsity as the entire group was still there. I hope they come out to every game from here on out as they were fantastic

Agree the Sigma Chi's were rocking - hope they can get down on the floor for next home game.

I think the idea behind the "oldsters" behind our own bench is to not allow students behind the either bench. I am hoping we can add students behind our own bench and there is demand for that - since i agree it helps the east end zone feel like they are "in the flow" better and wraps more of the lower bowl with energy.

This would be good to consider for next year (or later this year). Take the season tickets from behind our bench put them in the chronic no-show red seaters.

I say leave the friends behind our bench (if you have to) and put more students behind THEIR bench :D

I sit in section 113 (right behind the visitor bench), I got the tickets as a compromise following the ticket fiasco when my previously purchased tickets were no longer available. The ticket office told me sec 113 was slated to be student seating but NCAA rules don't allow you to seat students behind the visitor bench.

A buddy of mine was talking about you. Saw you for across the way. Nice get on those seats.

If students can't sit there, does that mean SMU folks can't sit there. Better to sit old SMU people there than let them go empty.

The whole lower bowl student ticket thing is very frustrating... My fraternity brothers and I are huge fans and sit in the first two rows sec 108 behind the basket... Luckily I was able to sit center court for the UConn game, as a lot of students didn't come back from break for it. I got kicked out of the Mob section against Hofstra during the halftime magic show because a "SMU ticket/seat enforcer" came by and checked to make sure the ticket matched where you were sitting. As I left the section to make my way back to 108, I kindly told him how dumb it was that us students couldn't sit in the section that gets seen the most on television if it is was not filled. I'm more than willing to give up my seat to one who has paid for it, but if that section isn't filled, I feel there shouldn't be a problem with students from under the baskets filling it.

And yes it is very hard for everyone do the same chant from across the court and with the Mob.. needs to be some kind of system where we decide when were gonna just be crazy loud or do a chant when on D. Hopefully something will be improved for next year, but not sure what they could do with the set up of the seats and the NCAA rules...

All due respect, but if you want to keep HCLB he's not the one that needs to get a clue.

We'll, some smu folks sit there, me for one. The ticket office told me that those seats are offered to parents of the other teams (which have been there every game) and then they sell tickets that are not used by the other team.

I agree, one section on tv (the mob) with no continuation of a student section on each side looks terrible. I would really like if the section behind the smu bench was students. It would look much better on tv than people sitting, then the mob, then more people sitting behind the visitor's bench. No flow.

Also, noticed a considerable amount of student seats in the last 5-6 rows on the end of the smu bench. Need to get more students in there regardless.
