Re: Rutgers message boardWe're taking the word of people on a message board who weren't at the game and watched on TV in NJ? Sorry. Need proof.

Re: Rutgers message boardThat guy was speculating. Here is the video. It is at the 8:25 mark of the game. I would hope the students would have kicked anyone out that yelled a slur. I did not hear it in the video.

Re: Rutgers message board
Yeah, I sit relatively close to the student section. Probably too high to have heard anything, but there was certainly no indication that anything outside of the ordinary heckling occurred. The video pretty much backs that up. I wouldn't worry about it, but it's always scary that one idiot could make SMU "go viral" for all the wrong reasons.
Re: Rutgers message boardawful call by the refs, Moore pushed the guy down.
I don't see their coach or anyone in the area looking at the crowd whatsoever.
Re: Rutgers message board
I knew it was bad, but I just re-watched it. That was even worse than I remembered. Even Ben looked a little confused when the ref made the call. Reminded me of Kevin Ollie's ejection a few nights earlier when Louisville beat UConn.
Re: Rutgers message boardSomeone posted during the game that the Rutgers player was grabbing Moore before he pushed him away. I did not see that but it is possible there was a Rutgers foul before the Moore push. If not, I agree it was an atrocious call.

Re: Rutgers message boardthe ref by the basket was about to call a foul on Ben then stood down with a confused look on his face. If you have it DVRd it's pretty funny
Re: Rutgers message boardI wouldn't worry about random accusations of butthurt fan bases. Very successful program and student body goes through that sort of thing.

Re: Rutgers message boardI attended Rutgers basketball and football games for many years during the 80s, 90s and early 2000s. Both programs were disappointing and generated little student or community interest. In fact, you can make a good argument that Rutgers football is the worst program in the history of college football. At any rate, they have made some progress in football and now have a better following, but it will be interesting to see if they can sustain the momentum generated by former coach Schiano as it appeared that momentum really faded this season. In addition, they have had 7 football verbals de-commit in the past several weeks. Rutgers basketball has not been very good since the 80s. Most of the games I attended at the RAC were far from well attended and the students were predictably apathetic as they were not good and frequently among the bottom 4 teams in the old Big East who did not make the conference tournament.
Re: Rutgers message boardNot defending them, but Rutgers football has an all time win percentage over 50%. Better than SMU.

Re: Rutgers message board
How many hall of famers do they have? How do our winning % compare pre 1986? I don't know why you get fixated on our all time winning %. After 25 years of failure of course our winning percentage is bad. And yes, I know we were bad for many periods in our history. Doesn't reflect on our football heritage. And for many of those seasons, we were playing teams like Ohio State, ND, Pittsburg, Missouri, and many others for our OOC in addition to our difficult SWC schedule. Re: Rutgers message board
From the beginning of football at each school to 1985, we won 54.6% of our games and Rutgers won 52.9%
