Holy [deleted]Rice and Texas State have higher ranked recruiting classes than ours right now

Re: Holy [deleted]I hate to say I told you so, so...Welcome to Miami!
Re: Holy [deleted]I guess you shouldn't look at Average Per Recruit where we are No. 108 in Rivals. This year there are so few 3 stars there is very little stratification between SMU, Texas St, UTSA, NTSU, UTEP, Rice and others schools that hardly ever get a Texas top 150 recruits. But its really hard to argue we are recruiting much higher than that level based on stars OR offers or even visits

Re: Holy [deleted]So does Central Michigan, Louisiana Tech, Bowling Green, Ball State, Arkansas State, Toledo, Southern Miss, Middle Tennessee, FIU, TULANE, Western Kentucky, Marshall, Temple, and Western Michigan. Oh we're tied with [deleted] Memphis.
These are just the teams that should have inferior programs to us.... pathetic...... BOP - Providing insensitivity training for a politically correct world since 1989.
Re: Holy [deleted]I am in no way saying that we have a rock star recruiting class, but if you have a subscription take a look at our ratings on ESPN.
Because rivals doesn't have as many three stars as in the past, all of the tweeners fall into two star category and look like the same level of recruit rice or UTSA is getting. If you look at ESPN, with more detailed evaluation and ratings, you will see that while we are not where we want to be, the level of recruit for next year is certainly higher than Rice and UTSA.
Re: Holy [deleted]
You don't need a subscription to look at ESPN's ratings. They're free which is why they're garbage. You like ESPN because everyone is a 3 start there and it makes your man crush June look less lazy. Even if ESPN list them as 3 stars, almost none of them have any kind of offers to back them up. BOP - Providing insensitivity training for a politically correct world since 1989.
Re: Holy [deleted]if you go by ESPN, something like 93.5% of the commits at USF, Cincy, Houston and UCF are 3 or 4 stars. Its ridiculous- We also are behind Temple in ESPN where they have 1 Four Star and 16 Three Stars. They don't even have Tulane, Tulsa or ECU in their database. We would be beating Memphis (No. 93 in Rivals) and UConn (No. 106 in Rivals)

Re: Holy [deleted]
I do not know anything about ESPN ratings, but this argument does not hold water. You do not need a subscription to look at Rivals or Scout ratings either. Does that mean you think they are garbage too?
Re: Holy [deleted]
touché. My point is that Rivals and Scout make a living off selling subscriptions for recruiting articles and their site in general, that's not ESPN's M.O BOP - Providing insensitivity training for a politically correct world since 1989.
Re: Holy [deleted]ESPN is only actively showcasing 6-7 conferences-the rest you can find but aren't even in their index

Re: Holy [deleted]We could be in trouble two years from now. But with Tulane, Tulsa, and ECU coming to the conference it might be okay because the conference will be getting weaker and not stronger. Also with JJ wanting to schedule down instead of recruit up that could artificially create wins with low level talent. The problem is when we face a talented team we could get beaten pretty badly. Our offer list looks pretty bad no matter what site view.

Re: Holy [deleted]
Ecu beat unc and nc state. They have a dedicated fan base. Yes, the school is average, but they will be more a program than us if the current administration allows the jj trend to continue. Go Ponies!
Re: Holy [deleted]another thing to notice is TCU falling off the map as well. They are fading very fast.
Re: Holy [deleted]Guys... We all know the score.
This staff knows they are done after 14. They also know they have to offer and sign kids to scholarships this year. So they sign the best kids that they know or who want to come to SMU ( usually because it is clearly their best if only choice) There is no actual recruiting going on other than returning phone calls and taking care of those in the fold. No SMU coach is trying to talk a kid from going to another school. Pony 81
