It's not that much of a stretch, I agree it's highly unlikely but certainly not out of the realm. There's more than a few coaches that owe LB. NC State coming to SMU should saying something. Wouldn't have thought that to be possible a few years back with Gottfried. Look at their OOC away games if you don't believe me, they hardly go on the road and only to big teams that can return the favor.

Like football, with respect to bball I would think coaches would want to come to Dallas for a chance to recruit all of the bball talent in the DFW area

So true, wouldn't be surprised in the least to see Duke play SMU at AAC or something. Unlikely it'd be Moody. But that's the reason UK played in Dallas against Baylor for the most part.

Wouldn't surprise me one bit if Kansas ends up on the schedule. HCBS likes to schedule good teams in target recruiting markets.

Don't mean to sound cruel, but I have to post this. Remember sitting next to a fat, ugly Arkansas fan (maybe she was a student, who knows) at the ReUnion tourney as she proudly sang, "Oh Lord, it's hard to be humble, when you are an Arkansas basketball fan!" My only thoughts...."Woo Pig Sooie"

Yep, they were the best fans. Tech and UT were also good.

Would love to see Buzz visit Moody and see what he missed out on.
The more I think about it, NC State is simply a terrific opponent. Was the last time we played them on national television? This was pre-ESPN when the game of the week meant something.
I remember Al McGuire calling Carl Wright the best 'athlete' in college basketball. Emphasis was on 'athlete' and not 'player'.
Had we defeated NC State, SMU would have completed the Trifecta, wins against Kentucky, North Carolina and NC State all on the road.

It would be nice if SMU would play at Notre Dame so that Nic's family and friends could get to a game that's close.

I agree about NC State. I hope LB loads up ACC schools at all levels.

Or Purdue, Butler, Indiana, ect. Butler might be a great candidate to get a return visit from too.

Need to amend my thoughts. After reading some of the inflammatory comments from the Rutgers fan base about SMU. I want SMU in a pre-season tournament, so SMU can put a 30 point beatdown of Rutgers. . . Good luck to OhioBrownFan. You are about to deal with the whiniest douchbag of a fan base when they move to the Big 10 next year.

Hey, I'm just glad there's a fairly easy win in basketball. I have no idea how they got their bid other than for money and the New York market. That athletic program is pathetic. The RAC (their bball court) is going to be the smallest gym in the Big 10 I believe on top of that and are going to have to have it renovated as part of the move I think I read. It's a mess, they suck. I don't even think Maryland is a good add, but the B10 loves it's money.
