10-0 at Moody Coliseum (Home Court Advantage)

Postby StandUp » Wed Jan 22, 2014 11:33 pm

Was just looking at some stats on espn.com Pretty impressive! We are 10-0 at home, only 3-3 on the road. Nice to see that we are building a winning tradition at Moody. Pony Up!

Other stats... For the season we are averaging 72pts/game and giving up only 60pts/game (13th in the nation in points allowed). I was actually surprised to see that we are 17th in the nation at Offensive Field Goal Percentage shooting 49% from the floor. NCAA Tourney here we come!

You clearly haven't watched a single game all year..... Our first game in Moody was jan 4. We are 4-0 there

It'll be interesting to see if we can keep the streak alive when we're not favored at home. I have high hopes for the Memphis game on Feb. 1. (Although I guess we could end up favored in that one too if Memphis comes out flat tomorrow and we take care of business this weekend...)

10-0 at Home (Home Court Advantage)

Postby StandUp » Wed Jan 22, 2014 11:52 pm

I recognize that we have only played a few games at Moody and have played our early home games elsewhere. ESPN does not take that into account. Home Games are Home Games to ESPN. No need to tear apart and analyze every post that I make. Just found it interesting that we are 10-0 at home. So be it, we are 4-0 at Moody. All pretty impressive. Keep up the good work blackoutpony, your second guessing statistician work is second to none :) Sarcasm.

I actually am a very good statistician and generally use them to prove my point. but my point is that anyone who has paid attention to this team is well aware we haven't lost "at home" all year. That's like trying to tell us that Emanuel Mudiay is coming here next year. But you keep up your awesome fandom stand up. What would we do without you :lol:

Brilliant observation, StandUp. I haven't watched one game all year so it's nice to read how well our home team performs. And especially at home.

I would be curious to know how many NCAA teams are 10-0 at home. LA_Mustang and blackoutpony don't bother telling me to use my friend Google or some other smart [deleted] comment. Save it. I will let you show us all just how much you know. You can show off your Google skills. Just trying to generate discussion. Pony Up!

Thanks for all the positive feedback guys. I guess a team going 10-0 at home is not all that big of a deal to you. This is unchartered waters for our Basketball Program. Let's read between the lines. It is nice to see that we are starting a winning tradition at Home. As we all know winning cures all. Winning will bring media attention, recruits and fans.

Pretty Strong Stats for our SMU Mustangs
* 10-0 at Home
* 13th in the nation in points allowed (60pts/game)
* 16th in the nation in offensive field goal percentage (49%)
* 30th in the nation in rebounds per game (27 rebounds/game)
* On the fringe of being a Top 25 Basketball Team
* Strong possibility of making the NCAA Tournament
* National Media Attention
* National TV
* National Recruiting

Not exactly a "Mr. Obvious" post. Pony Up!
