4,5,11 will be just fine
Unfortunately, u don't so that and that is why Brett Shipp gets to do this BS. SMU is not in the position to turn reporters away. Shipp is the guy that really tried to drill Dirk for not bailing his criminal "pregnant" ex fiancé out of jail years ago. Flying down to Houston to confront LB after a game was bush league.
At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

1. The Nielsen February Sweeps begin Thursday, Jan. 30. If this is a dynamite story, why wouldn't the station hold it until then? Possible answers: they are afraid someone will beat them to it, or it's not something that will move viewership numbers in a big way. Let's hope for the later.
2. I've inferred that he is implying that SMU had some knowledge of the grade change. Does he have rock solid proof? If not, this is yellow (or maybe orange) journalism at its finest.
3. Sending a reporter to that post-game news conference, when they don't send sports reporters to cover out-of-town games, is a chicken-$#!& move.
The only people that STILL watch the local news are the same old farts that watch "wheel of Fortune".. And those people don't give a [Deleted] about SMU. Won't move their ratings a bit.

SMU should freeze Ch. 8 out of any coverage for the rest of the season.

Regardless of any truth or hearsay in the report, it's aggravating considering how we were finally getting some publicity, and positive publicity at that.

Didn't keith take a few summer school courses before he came here? I'm pretty sure he took those to fix any grade issues

Since Ch 8 is part of ESPN it probably would not be a good idea to freeze them out.

This is what scumbag newsmen do... They all suck. Voicing your complaints is a joke, just tells the bosses they were muckraking, and THAT is their job. I won't watch, and yes I would revoke their press pass requests and I don't care if USAToday or any other affiliated media is offended. We got this far without any of their help, we will go farther still without them. EFF THEM ALL, AND JUST WIN BABY!

Ch. 8 is owned by the Gannett Co. (they publish USAToday most notably) and has nothing to do with ESPN. All of the other stations in town are owned by their respective networks. Seriously though, no reason for WFAA cameras to be on campus this season after that report if that's all they have on SMU's "link" to this.

While I was at SMU, I had a teacher who had just arrived from a Big10 school. He had a star football player who he failed because, in his words, he never showed up for class.
Player went on to a decent NFL career and was good enough that I recognized his name as would over 80%+ of people who followed NFL football in the early '80's would have.
Failing him impacted his eligibility, so teacher was approached by coaching staff. At first they were nice and offered premium tickets 'carrot approach'. Later they tried more of the 'stick' approach. As this intensified, teacher felt faculty in his department did not really really have his back. Eventually he had a sit-down with the player. Said player couldn't have been a nicer person. In the end he gave him a passing grade because he didn't want to jeopardize the kid's future.
Keith Frazier stands to earn so much more $ than virtually every single Kimball graduate that school has ever produced, even if his wages come from Europe and not the NBA. Personally can't say I fault anyone at Kimball for helping KF pursue his dream. Changing one grade, in the grand scheme of things, is a non-story IMO.
Black youth unemployment approaching 40%, now that's a story.

Until I hear a lot more than that, this is a complete non-issue. My wife, who knows a lot more about DISD (and Texas education in general), agrees. I'll get some more solid info on the transfer and grade change policies from her tomorrow. I don't think this is gonna be a problem. Plus, everybody loves a controversy. Embrace it.

I've had a connectiin to a Brett Ship story before. Most of what he says is garbage to twist or outright make up facts to make the story what he wants it to be. Of course that is pretty much all journalism these days.
