I would assume that SMU's position is that he took the summer classes, took the SAT, got the approval of the NCAA Clearinghouse, and that was the end of it. Shouldn't the burden of proof be on the part of those crying foul?

I think what Stallion is saying is that since we aware now the suspension has to start now.

If a school does that then they are subject to no further penalties if they weren't involved-if they don't suspend and notify the NCAA then all future games that Frazier plays in are subject to forfeit. There is credible evidence that Keith Frazier was ineligible to graduuate which makes him ineligible for NCAA competition because DISD conducted an investigation and found, after admissions from a Kimball employee that Frazier's grade was changed.

But what about the fact that he was cleared by NCAA after taking the summer courses. When did Keith actually graduate. Hope you can provide that along with all of the above. Nice try at blowing smoke.

The allegation ('smoke") has been made. And the allegation has been proven legally in administrative hearing before the DISD. In fact, we have an admission and a termination. I'm not saying SMU has violated any NCAA Rule yet. But if Keith Frazier was cleared by the NCAA based on a fraudulent transcript then Frazier's eligibility is in question

LOL. So we find out now, halfway through the season, there was wrongdoing that had nothing to do with SMU and we should suspend Frazier? There has to be more evidence/proof before SMU should suspend him.

After the North Carolina grade scandal, we had better play this straight because the NCAA will be looking to impose some penalties on a non P5 program

This can turn into Memphis again when they learned that Rose had SAT fraud but continued to play him instead of suspend him after finding out. SMU has to suspend Frazier now and ask for reinstatement, timing is good since he is hurt anyway. Now that SMU is aware, we cannot risk playing him until we get a ruling from the NCAA.

No they do not.
1) Shipp did not state or imply that the NCAA was investigating the situation
2) SMU has not indicated that they are worried about the situation
3) I assume that KF is denying any wrongdoing
4) Even if the grade was changed, the summer school KF passed probably cured any issues that might have existed.

My point is he was cleared by the NCAA after taking the summer classes which I would suggest overrides any fradulent transcript. Mootness?

I doubt it...Maybe Dale Hansen will get involved too. Give SMU even more reason to hate that guy.

again, I agree if the fradulent transcript issue involved the grades which were "cured" during summer school then Frazier's would likely be eligible. But the Ch. 8 report mentioned he was failing 3 courses. I assumed the summer school classes were probably to cure the other 2 courses leaving the changed grade still in controversy. Simple fact investigation should clear that up

Do we know for sure your 4th point (attending and passing summer school) trumps HS graduation and allows for him to be admitted and play at SMU?

I just don't see how that would trump graduating from HS? Especially if that's required by the NCAA?

Since only one course was changed and the course was retaken in the summer it would seem like that would take care of it. :?
