we are understandably skittish around here. It doesn't take much to send SMU supporters older than 40 into a complete tailspin at the site of any reporter snooping around for any reason. We have lived through the worst. PDP syndrome. (Post Death Penalty syndrome)

Key finding:

"The alleged grade change on an earlier interim report was not reflected on the official transcript and thus did not have an impact on admission to SMU or NCAA eligibility."

that finding is going to make it hard for them to say anything about this tonight on the news....some editor has an interesting quandary tonight.

I think there are only 3 ways they can go with the story tonight: 1) edit it to be a kimball/ DISD story, 2) double down and say they have evidince SMU was involved in the grade change 3) drop the report

We now know why Shipp ran the story and hassled Brown, he was probably aware the DMN was about to get the DISD report today and when it was going to be made public.

That is a true statement and SMU certainly seems off the hook, but doesn't the report SMU just received today say that Keith should not have graduated, therefore SMU now knows he is ineligible and must suspend him? Read the language, it says it is not SMUs responsibility to check attendance, etc...That is because the report says KF should not have graduated. Maybe I am wrong, but I think SMU is fine, but Keith's days at SMU are over.

You are wrong, sorry. All of that was conjecture Shipp brought to the story. Shipp quoted an admin who said in his opinion he didn't think KF should graduate. That's not a factual finding at all. The facts are clear. If the grade was changed (and it sounds like it was changed on an interim report), it was done so by a Kimball instructor and before SMU had any knowledge. All there is now is an official transcript.

That is good and I hope he is fine, I just wonder what is covered in those 500 pages? I thought Shipp said an internal DISD audit ruled that he should not have graduated. SMU is now aware of the result of the audit and will deal with it.

Hopefully it is nothing.

Just out of curiosity, does anyone know if WFAA has covered a single SMU game this year?

If I'm reading it correctly, SMUs response basically he says he took summer classes to make up for the messed up grade, which wasn't even a part of the official transcript, and is good to go.

I hope shipp gets Eiffel Towered by the entire men's Samoan rugby team

So Frazier was admitted based on the official transcript which reflected accurate grades.

Now it makes perfect sense that Larry looked confused.

Can't wait for editor correction articles to make front page
