The downside of hiring a coach at the end of his career.

His next job is in the front office of an NFL team.

What a sad ending to an otherwise illustrious career. He just gave up after he realized that Texas recruits weren't going to fall into his lap.

Now that 2 football coaches have taken new jobs and left our football program (Hal Mumme and Timmy Chang), is there a possible hidden positive here? Just a thought...with a smaller coaching staff, can we now financially afford to fire June Jones? I thought that I read that one of the hang ups and reasons that Jones kept his job was that we would have to pay June his contract along with paying his assistant coaches their contracts?

On a related note, who is going to be our Offensive Coordinator next season with Hal Mumme gone? I recognize that maybe June and Hal shared offensive play calling duties last season, but if June Jones is our head coach doesn't he need to hire an offensive coordinator to replace Hal Mumme? Seems kind of important.

Chang was a 2nd year Graduate Assistant-he wasn't getting paid much of anything

The timing could be better, but if true, that's a different story altogether.

Even if it is a different story since he was at a college all star game the week before so it was not something that was good for this time of the year in recruiting with 2015 kids starting to commit and one of our better recruits wavering. That means that out of 2 weeks that he has only had a few days to go out on the road and recruit. Just saying.

It comes down to recruiting hard vs partying hard. I am starting to wonder if there were any provisions in the new contract at all regarding recruiting..

LB is worth more than the $2M we are paying him and his staff. June Jones is robbing us.

We still have JJ, Morrison and Phillips as OCs.

I would love to know Hart's reasoning for not firing June Jones (especially after his trip to vacation to Hawaii). I fully realize that everything is about money. How can Hart think that was a good idea? How is this living up to June Jones's recruiting responsibilities?

If you fully understand that everything is about money then you have Hart's reasoning right there.
