To this day, I don't understand why we let the Big East teams out of the conference a year early, but would the American ever consider letting Witchita State in as a basketball only school? Or are they just having a fluke couple of seasons? I know their academics are poor, but this is an "athletic conference" after all, and they wouldn't be full members... I'm just thinking that if they can somewhat consistently bring top 25 teams to the table (currently ranked #4), they'd be quite the asset after we lose Louisville. I'd prefer Wichita St.

I don't think anyone would say it is a bad idea. Since we are adding Navy as a football only school we could add Wichita State as a basketball only school I guess.

We would need to add them as an all-sports member except in football (which they don't play). Shouldn't be a problem because they are decent in baseball too.

My mom went to Wichita State and played in the band there in the 60s. They did away with football for budgetary reasons in the mid 80s to focus on baseball.

That and their team was killed in a plane crash and they never recovered. They were Marshall before Marshall.

Wow. Would have bet it was as many as 10 years before Marshall. Hair is getting too blue.

Now that the blue seats are red, are the blue hairs now gingers?

Actually SMU played Wichita St in football, when Wichita St had a football team. . . Could be mistaken, but I think it was in the early 80's
