On the radio Rich said USF played Cincy down to the wire at home.

I hate to say it, but I think our players thought they'd win that one easy... that's not a winning mindset not matter who you are.

Offense wasn't the problem. Defense was the problem.
Our outside shooting wasn't very good. Defense played well enough to win imo.
What? Did you watch the game? The team allowed 48 freaking points in the 2nd half. What the _____ were you watching? Are you talkin about the Iowa/MSU game?

Just cause the defense flat-out sucked [deleted] doesn't mean that USF is good or a tough game. USF shot 53 freaking percent. 53. Out-rebounded with a freshman and a sophomore that haven't rebounded all year well. That's pretty pathetic. No heart, no energy, no urgency tonight. Came out flat and walked right through this game in their sleep. This USF team is 1-6 in the AAC, the same team that just got blown out by 40 against Louisville AT HOME. The same USF team that lost to Santa Clara and Detroit. This game is 100% effort and tonight there was zero. They got beat up by a team that is weaker, less talented, and quite frankly doesn't have more than one kid that start for SMU. Oh, and the RPI is over 150. That definitely falls into the horrible loss category.
They had a different game plan and executed it at their home. Call it what you want but there are no gimmies from this point on. It will be a grind.

Executing is one way to describe it. Not playing with any effort whatsoever might be another way to describe it. Save it, that was a gimme. They BLEW A GIMME. Get over it.

I think they were distracted by the WFAA stuff. Can't get distracted. Have to focus, play your game, and win. The best way to react to that crap is putting a beatdown on somebody. Since we didn't do that today I hope we do it against Memphis.

i have zero evidence but I am wondering if he wasn't feeling well (sick/flu). What happened to him when he went off the court? Hit in the head, he appeared to be limping. He was so bad I just wonder if something was wrong tonight.

I wonder how much that (unecessary) distraction influenced them as well. Oh well. It happens. Tiger Woods shot 79 on Saturday. We know we have a good team, but need to get back on the court and prove it.

If it was a gimmie then we could have played bad and still won. Just saying. Still sticking with the 25 win prediction?

I think he got banged up in the mouth there. 8 TOs is almost impressive, albeit a bad reason to be impressed but I can't recall too many people I've seen almost get a triple-double with TOs included. The just got their manhood taken tonight in the paint by a freshman and sophomore.

At no point did I predict 25 wins. I counted out the number of wins they should have. They play like that again and allow 48 points in a half to a team that averages 65 a game, and I can tell you they will have 16 wins at the end of the year. That's pathetic. They rank 294th in offense and hung nearly 80 points. Do you know how many DI teams there are and where 294th stacks up? SMU didn't play bad, you need a new word to describe that performance tonight. We looked awful.

I don't think they will take any team for granted or as a gimmie where they think they can just show up and win from this point on. Go SMU beat Memphis.

Two straight games we have struggled with defensive FG%. The points in the paint is a big one tonight - at least against Houston, their 3's kept them in the game.
I figured there would be one of these - it just means we have to win two of the big home games instead of just one in order to make the tourney.
I am more worried about the defensive trend than the RPI.
