I honestly don't see them missing it, not to get a head of myself, but there's nobody they should lose to other than the top 4, even on the road. Yeah, they might have to scrape by Houston or someone, but it should be a win. That's 7 wins right there, and I truly believe they're going to win 2/3 home games against Louisville, Memphis, and Cinci. That gives them 2 more quality wins, 24 wins, I also think they steal one away at Memphis or UConn. That would give them 25 and depending on how they do in the AAC tourney, looking at a 7 seed. I think that's the goal and the team goal today. I'd be shocked if it isn't something like that.
Like said in another thread that there are no gimmies. Each game from this point on will be a grind.
Alright, you're actually an idiot if you think that was not a gimme. They are beyond pathetic. That was an atrocious loss. Like get a grip dude. Just because they allow 48 points in the 2nd half doesn't make USF some magically good team. Oh, and it wasn't SMUs defense according to you? Did you watch the same game?
I didn't say they were manically good but each AAC team plays well at home. Again. see Temple vs Cincy. I'm no idiot Mr. Jinx but I know we do not play well on the road. Again, please stop predicting regarding SMU as you are terrible at it.

Evidently I predicted the other 5 wins in a row correct. So I guess I'm 5-1 in my last 6. I'd say that's pretty good since you're keeping score. Oh yea, I also thought the team would beat UConn. These aren't predictions when you state the team should beat a bad team. Just because they slept through the game doesn't make USF some tough team at home. Louisville beat them BY 40 AT HOME...40 freaking points, as in more than either team scored in a half tonight. But yeah, real stalwart at home.

Anybody that didn't predict we would beat USF is an idiot. No way we should have lost that one.
That said, this is basketball, not football. You've got a ton of chances to make up for it. Even if we were to lose every game the rest of the season, there's still the conference tournament. (Not likely, but just saying...)

You predicted Nebraska over Cincinnati.

I said I wouldn't be surprised to see Nebraska knock off Cinci. That was also the beginning of the season. You're trying too hard man...But oh man, my e-cred got dinged 5 points. Sucks...

Just for clarification I did not predict we would lose to USF, But I did say each game would be a grind. The away games will be a grind no doubt.

I think we have a good chance at Moody at Memphis. Our 6th man crowd will help the team.

I sure hope so, hopefully the team plays with some urgency and wakes up.

Not trying to bag on you but the team may have went into the game thinking it was a gimmie and that they did not have to give the maximum effort to win. Since they know that Memphis is no gimmie I think you will be a different SMU team ready to play better.

I think you're probably right. And if we don't give maximum effort versus Memphis we'll lose by 20+ easy.

They DEFINITELY went into the game with that mind-set. No focus, no effort. I agree with you and that's not bagging on me. There's no other way to explain 48 points in a half against a team that is sterile on the offensive end. This team tonight was not the same team that has been playing most of the year. When they're focused, the team can play with most teams in the country. When they're not, they struggle with pretty bad teams.

We are a better team than what we showed tonight. We will rebound from the game and play better. I view this as a learning experience. I think that they will play each team as if the opponent was the number 1 team in country from this point on. Let's put this behind us and get ready for Memphis.

I came into this season hoping for 20 wins and a NIT invite, but admit this team's early success has spoiled me. I honestly didn't expect many road wins in AAC play so winning at UCF and Houston has been a plus. Let's see if we can defend Moody for these next 3 games. That could dictate whether we are a team that is NCAA tourney worthy. Beating Memphis and Cincy would be huge

Win 2 of the next 3, sweep Temple, Houston, and Rutgers and we're in IMHO.

I guess I will go back to my one game at a time mentality. Without Yanick in there it's going to be a bit tougher. The defense and blocked shots he provided really helped. Beat Mermphis.
