By far the worst defensive FG% we've given up but Houston was shooting out of their mind. We still held our own on the boards. Also, we had 9 steals to their 3.

USF shot 53% from the field and out rebounded us by 5. Easily our worst game of the year in the two areas we're usually dominate.

While watching the Duke Pitt game, I thought our D could beat either one of those two schools D. Then I witnessed last night's effort. We just got flat beat on the boards and in the paint. Is Kennedy running out of steam cause last night was easily his worse game of the year. We need Yannick back as soon as he is healthy to play. If nothing more than to give Kennedy some breather time. And we need another scorer to step up. KF is too inconsistent right now. Pf course a win against Memphis changes a lot of this but last night's lost really hit the confidence one has in this team.

But we do need more than one jump shooter on the team so other teams won't just pack it in and dare us to beat them on outside shooting.

A much improved effort on the defensive end than we saw against USF. Memphis shot 40% from the field and we out rebounded them by 2, 39 to 37.

We got back to SMU defensive tonight - Temple shot 30% from the field. We out rebounded them by 6.

Love this thread because it is the way this team wins most all its games. That USF game was such an outlier-but to their credit they hit their shots which most teams don't against SMU. Cincy and Louisville are probably exceptions though and we will be tested inside

I completely agree, it's just not fun to rely on it. We don't and we won't, so Yay us.

We have to at least keep the other teams honest. Adding another outside shooter would help, especially when Nic Moore gets in foul trouble or something like that.
