Re: Traylon SheadWell, that sucks. I'm wondering if having a family just put too much financial pressure on him to wait another year and risk further injury.
Re: Traylon Shead
You left out the whole getting a degree aspect of staying here. Seems like it could trump your whole list of concerns about the team that you assumed he shares.
Re: Traylon SheadDo not know if I want to risk a draft choice on a player who fumbled on 20% of his carries. I think he should try for a redemption year. Could mean big bucks. Not sure he would qualify for the insurance policy deal so he might just be trying to grab whatever he can get. But I just did not see enough for me to take a chance if I am NFL GM.

Re: Traylon SheadWow. I didnt see any nfl talent from that sampling
Re: Traylon SheadI am sorry, but that dude isn't even free agent-practice squad worthy. He couldn't hold on to the ball, runs very upright, and couldn't beat out Line, P for the starting job while here. Nor could he crack the lineup at UT while playing there.
It is a shame if he has pressure from family to do this, because it is a terrible decision that I have seen too many college athletes make. Stay one more year, hopefully play much better and attract some scouts, get your degree (from SMU!) to fall back on. Win-win.
Re: Traylon Sheadhahahahahahaha
Re: Traylon SheadYou all are assuming that he was in good academic standing at SMU and could continue and graduate. There is always a possibility that it was not his decision to leave and trying to go pro could be his only option.

Re: Traylon SheadFrom what I understand Shead had a class from Navarro JC that did not transfer over to SMU. It was in criminology I believe and since SMU did not offer the class we had to declare him ineligible for next year. So he really did not have tp much of a choice but to go pro.

Re: Traylon SheadWell that's a [deleted] move if true. Sounds like the JC problems we had back in the day where credits wouldn't transfer so talented kids wouldn't come here. Unless it's an NCAA issue, since they're tightening standards re. JUCOs.
Re: Traylon Shead
51 carries, 5 fumbles -- more like 10%, but any fumbles are too many, but it wasn't quite as bad as you say. Good luck, Traylon.
Re: Traylon Shead
If I recall correctly, I believe the transferring credits issue also cost us the OT transfer from LSU. "It's a couple hundred million dollars. I'm not losing sleep over it." -- David Miller
Re: Traylon SheadWait how did Shead and Lowe get into SMU in the first place if their "Courses didn't transfer". Do you guys actually think this through? Both had to have the required GPA (which was only 2.0 GPA now 2.5 GPA) and the required hours and core courses to get into SMU making your theory a bunch of BS What you are probably describing as I've said many times is NCAA Academic Progress Toward Degree requirements (the so-called 40-60-80% Rule) not SMU course transfer issues.

Re: Traylon SheadThat is what I was thinking. How did he ever get in if courses did not allow so?

Re: Traylon Shead
Did not look it up but do recall a time it was around 4 fumbles on 20 or so carries. I stand corrected and wish him luck but think he really needs some more work. If academic I understand. Sure do recall him having that many carries though. All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand
Re: Traylon SheadSounds like some missing information fellas
