I really didn't expect these type of crowds or winning this much till next yr with EM. Yes, now we are nitpicking. I am going to enjoy this.

BTW, there are some SRO areas over there in the West entrance you can stand and yell. Are those ticketed? thought I saw it roped off but hard to tell.

They had said they were selling SRO for that area for this games.

On that we can agree and be happy.

This conversation is silly...

Just show up, be loud, and support the team. I don't care if you stand, sit, or do a [deleted] handstand the whole damn game.

Use common sense, be respectful, and understand that you are not a "better fan" because you do or don't do 'X'.

"Fan snobbery" is obnoxious, divisive, and incredibly immature.

As for my opinion on standing/sitting, I'll sit when things are slow, but I understand that any time I attend any sporting event there's a chance that the people in front of me will choose to stand. It's a risk you take, although I don't mind since I tend to stand more than average anyway. (100% of the time at football games, mostly due to my seat location.) If the people behind you have a legitimate problem, just be a human being and talk about it. If they're just lazy, feel free to ignore them. If they're elderly/infirm/otherwise legitimately inconvenienced, don't be an [deleted] just because you can. (All that said, I HATE when stadium staff/etc. try to force people to sit down. As I said before, the risk of standing at a sporting event is just something you have to be ready for...)

Let's not get all cult-like and Aggified with huge lists of rules. Get there early enough to hear (sing) the national anthem, be as rowdy and loud as you can at all times, except our free-throws.

My only complaint is that group-cheers and cheer-tempo need to be more predictable. I feel like the students do defense-clap-clap-defense at near light-speed.

Not at all saying SMU fans need to conform to one style vs. another (or mirror another team). In fact, I hope SMU forms its own unique identity. Just seems a bit out of sync. I file this away with the good problems to have.

That said, it shouldn't be a shot at anyone to say yell out the shot clock or step up your cheering when the Mustangs are on D. I deleted my prior comments so I didn't hurt any feelings. Bring it in for a hug guys.

Broski - no I just say broski when I'm trying to show a condescending tone. It works well.

Cox, while I suppose the "214" section is technically an upper section, Moody is tiny. And to that end every seat qualifies for a standing seat. 20000 person arenas are different from 7000 moody.

Don't be mad bro.

Wow. Who knew it was going to be so difficult to be a fan? Nobody said anything when I was one of about 5 people in my section. Now all of a sudden the band wagoners want to lecture on everything up to and including the cadence on the D-fense chant? I'm not a blue hair (thanks to my hairdresser) but I sit in 104. Please feel free to come down and show me what I'm doing wrong Thursday night. Bring me a beer while you're at it.

So was anybody standing for the full 40 minutes when we only scored 28 against UAB? I must admit that the only time I stood up for that one was during the national anthem.

It's all situational.

I think I stood when we got our 10th point and again at 20.
