Perhaps certain building restrictions? It might be as tall as permitted in UP.

Let's get to where we regularly sell out all Moody games and have a couple 18000+ games at the AAC

Originally it was 10k or so back in the day. suites killed a lot of seats. The Loge ramp ate up a ton of extra space but you had to have ADA compliance. Too bad the Hall of Champs railing and weird spacing is so far from court or could be another SRO

I'm sure in the 1950s with the size of SMU and how relatively remote we were from Dallas it was probably huge at the original capacity of 9000+

It is basically a copy of Cameron Indoor.
