No way Nic Moore is our PG next year, Mudiay is a much better penetrator and he isn't nearly as good of a shooter as NM. Moore will play off-guard mostly and Mudiay will be able to hit him and Keith for tons of wide open 3s. NM will play PG when Mudiay rests...pretty exciting thought!

Is this based on seeing both of them or just reading the scouting page? Why would you not want your best slasher playing off the wing but instead handling the ball out top to drive where you have both wing defenders swiping at anything? That's bball 101. Hence the reason most offensive sets start with a pass to the wing.

As for MK, you don't stay 4 years just because you have no jump shot. If you get a first-round grade at any point, you leave. To say he's definitely a 4 year player is just a personal opinion with no foundation especially for the reasons you listed. He's a PF at the next level, you don't need a jump shot. You do however need to finish well, be athletic, sound defender and run the court. Staying longer decreases your stock 99% of the time. There's always exceptions but if he gets graded well by scouts, LB will tell him it's in his best interest to leave.

Oh and next year starting line-up imo:
PG: Moore
SG: Mudiay
SF: Brown or Frazier
PF: Kennedy
C: Yanick

Would be shocked if LB didn't start Nic at point.

That said, this thread inspired me to do some NBA draft research and I'm not seeing any real NBA buzz for our guys at this point. Obviously things change, but right now it looks like our underclassmen will be back. (If they aren't, it probably means our team made a splash in the postseason and they got a chance to shine. Awesome.)

If any do make the jump, I'll support them wholeheartedly. The more professional players SMU can claim the better.

Well said.

Nic will probably be the starting PG next year. He will have a year of running the O under his belt. Not to take anything from EM but Nic does a lot of little things on the court that you don't realize. EM will adjust but the jump from high school to high D1 is a major step. Unless I'm reading LB wrong he won't take the ball out of NIc's hands.

I agree. There will be times when Eman brings it up also with Nic in and with Nic out. But Nic will be primary point I think. Just thinking of them both on the floor at the same time once Eman gets acquainted with D1 ball and the chemistry develops, gets me a little teary. I, personally, think Eman will have to play much much harder consistently and learn a lot about defense especially to get be an elite player on D1 level. I think it will happen, but maybe not until a few games into conference play. Either way, he'll get it/kill it for a couple of months and then leave. Enjoy it while it lasts folks (not that there isn't an "all world" class right behind him coming in to SMU, I'm just saying I think that Nic and Eman on the same floor together will be very special . . . and for a very short time).
