AAC Tourney at the AAC?

Postby East Coast Mustang » Tue Feb 04, 2014 6:49 pm

Any chance this happens in the future? It's not that much more far-fetched than Memphis in my opinion- Memphis is more centrally located but Dallas is much easier (and cheaper) to get to via air travel...I doubt many UConn, Temple, or USF/UCF fans are driving to Memphis. And in the future schools like Tulsa and Tulane as well as Houston and Memphis will be nearby. If we can be a contender year in and year out in the conference I don't see why it shouldn't rotate here along with places like Philly or Cincy

If we stay good enough, long enough, I could see it happening. I think the more "traditional" bball powers in the conference, aka, Temple, UConn. Memphis, and Cincy, will be getting first dibs though.

These things are generally played in large NBA arenas - like Memphis. It's more likely to be played at the AAC in Dallas than in Cincy or at UConn. It could conceivably be played in Phily, Orlando, or Houston too.

Could be played at XL Center in Hartford which I believe seats around 16,000. Also USBank Arena in Cincy (off campus) seats around 17,000. Philly would be great- at the Palestra or the Sixers arena. I bet Larry would enjoy that.

Well, we host the Final Four (Jerry's World) so that would be where I'd want to be. :-)

Basketball at Jerry World is worse than the football at Jerry World, and that's saying something.

AAC would be great though!

An excellent, neutral, central location would be Verizon Arena in Little Rock.

You can only get to Hartford by dog sled in the winter.
