Duke/WF game Shout Out

Postby TidePony » Tue Feb 04, 2014 11:09 pm

The announcers doing the Duke Wake Forest game just gave SMU a huge shout out. They talked about the strength of the AAC and then went on an SMU love fest. Talked about LB, new Moody, and how the players love to practice. Pure Greatness!

All true and isn't it great having ESPN promote your conference!

So happy we're in bed with ESPN now.

Make us a Louisville type school ESPN.

Insert "Not sure if serious" gif...you realize Louisville basketball has a [deleted] ton of history, right? lol, like I mean a ton. They're a college basketball blue blood, 3X NCAA Tournament Champion, 10 Final Fours spanning 7 decades (6th all-time), basically every decade college bball has mattered outside of Kansas, 26 Sweet 16s, 39 NCAA tourney appearances (5th all-time)... Like I said, not sure if serious but you can't just become a blue-blood because you've won a few games. Michigan, Texas, Arizona, UConn, they're not even on that level. Louisville basketball always has been and always will be a power.

Having Larry Brown as well respected and well known as he is helps.

Yeah, it's nice to see that constantly listed as a prime game this weekend.

Beat Temple tomorrow and it'll be even better. Cincinnati unbeaten in conference; SMU unbeaten at home.

If we're lucky, Larry has the team convinced we don't even have a game this weekend and all the focus is on Temple...

And to bring us back to earth a little, we got the "and Cincinnati will travel to Southern... umm... (shuffling of notes)... Methodist on Saturday" treatment just now in the Wyoming-New Mexico game. When will they learn to just say S-M-U? I mean, come on, that's what was on the screen.

True numbers, but I have noticed that when fans of top programs discuss achievement, Lville usually doesn't make the discussion. Their recent surge may have pushed then into the discussion, but I promise many still don't see it that way.

Hey, you got to start some where and I say This team is our starting point to becoming a basketball blueblood. Why not us? Why not SMU? Time will tell. BEAT TEMPLE!
