Last 4 in according to CBS as of Monday (2/3/14)
Re: BracketologyHere is what one of the posters on the Rivals BB message board had to say. The thread was about the match ups on the CBS bracket.
Look at these two amazing play in games guys. FSU vs LSU- tremendous athletic talent on display ASU vs SMU- Incredible PG matchup. Just wow. When will I start feeling stimulated??

American Athletic Conference Locks: Cincinnati, Louisville, Memphis, Connecticut Cincinnati took control of the AAC -- and put itself on the map nationally -- with a win at Louisville last week. The Bearcats now own a two-and-a-half game lead over the Cardinals and Tigers, which will almost certainly result in them avoiding those two teams in the conference tournament until a matchup with one of them in a potential championship game. Louisville still doesn't have a better win than at Connecticut this year, while Memphis' best win -- Oklahoma State on a neutral court -- doesn't look nearly as impressive as it once did. The Huskies graduated to lock status by continuing to beat the teams they should. Wins over Florida and at Memphis should help keep their tournament status relatively safe. IN THE MIX SMU (17-5, RPI: 48, SOS: 117) -- Thanks to a defense that ranks 21st in adjusted efficiency, the Mustangs are 28th overall on KenPom. Despite that, their tourney hopes took a huge hit when they lost at South Florida last week. It may have been on the road, but you can't lose to teams that are 144th in RPI when you're on the bubble. That they bounced back with a win over Memphis says a lot about the squad Larry Brown has in Dallas. They'll get a chance for a statement win with Cincinnati coming to town on Saturday. Re: BracketologyA lot of these brackatology articles are starting to make me mad. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate that we are in the mix and get talked about but it is such evidence of bias from past accomplishments. UCONN lost to Houston, that lose is easily as bad on paper as our loss to USF, and we beat UCONN but some how they are locks and we are on the bubble?
I think we are going to get to 23 wins (sweeping the bottom half of the conference teams and 1 win against cinci Louisville Memphis or UCONN), that would make us 23-8, if that was our resume and we were named UCONN or something similar would be 7 seed. As is they will probably make us a 12 and have to play into the tourney. I know we are a new kid on the block but we are in a power basketball conference with a HOF coach. I want the respect that should go with those 2 facts.
Re: BracketologyI don't understand the SI article. It’s says losing to USF hurt us. I thought the consensus was losing to USF was no big deal? What gives?
Re: BracketologySMU doesn't have the brand yet that gets respect no matter what. Beat Temple/Cincy and that will change very quickly. We have to earn respect unlike Uconn/Memphis at this point
Re: Bracketology
It definitely mattered, but it appears that we're getting more credit for beating Memphis than losing to USF. Our conference, and maybe SMU in particular, needs Memphis to beat Gonzaga this weekend.
Re: Bracketology
This is so true, but really sucks. Just keeping winning.
Re: BracketologyUCF loss was very bad, and not really a good reason for it. It's a long season though and we have a couple solid wins. Lets finish strong. I'm more concerned about the tournament (both conference and ncaa) than I am about if we crack the top 25
Re: Bracketology
No we don't have the brand yet but we do have Larry Brown. By all the press we have gotten lately, people obviously love telling our story. I think that might help us a little bit with the selection committee.
Re: BracketologyA Bubble team according to the big lead:
SMU (31st) vs. #11 seed: SMU is the anti-UMASS when it comes to the vagaries of the RPI. The rankings are probably right here with Larry Brown’s squad. Unfortunately, they played six very weak non-conference opponents (who they bludgeoned by 22 points on average) that will pull the RPI down. Instead of being safely in, they will likely continue to be viewed as on the bubble . . . because of the RPI madness. http://thebiglead.com/2014/02/04/bracke ... fferently/
