I'm all about making 'em hate us, but that stereotype only applies to a very small, specific group. It's not something I'd want people associating with me as an alum and it's not something I would help reinforce.

Like I've said before though, our fanbase is still developing its identity. We'll see where it ends up, but the last couple months have been promising.

Like I've said before though, our fanbase is still developing its identity. We'll see where it ends up, but the last couple months have been promising.

I think we have proven with Moody that we are more about quality than quantity. 7,000-8,000 in Basketball and 30,000-35,000 in Football will most likely be our ceilings in terms of attendance with top 25 programs. I think our identity will revolve around a more upscale type of fan, focused on quality rather than quantity, so I would not be shocked if Ford renovates to include more club seating areas and clean amenities like at Moody and not expand to add more seats per se. I am not a big fan of spending $160-250 Million like Baylor and TCU did with their 45,000 fan stadiums which they will struggle to fill halfway when the Big 12 rebalances and they start going 6-6 at the best case. A $10 Million club area renovation for Ford...that I can get on board with

SMU fans in the future: Elite, Upscale fanbase that hovers around 7,500 per game for hoops and 30,000 for Football games. Our girls will be well dressed to all games and our men will be fratty. I don't think we will ever attract the LSU, OU type of fan...leave that to them.

Enjoys? I despise the rep, but it exists b/c it couldn't be more true. I'm not saying throw empty 8ball baggies, just understand what we are and aren't. Class and hoops don't mix at most hostile arenas

the problem is that moody in now too small. we have outgrown it in our very 1st season. we could be drawing 10-12 k next year depending on how this season plays out.

as for chants s-m-u was and is my favorite.
goodbye and under-rateded are not cool.

i liked the way the crowd drowned out the under-rated with s-m-u at the end of the game.

It's not a small specific group. it applies to the schools national rep and how we are regarded on both coasts by anyone that actually knows the school. whereas I wish it weren't true, it is, so why shy away from it. Embrace the real
