Sincere Thank You to the Team

Postby FIVE-O-FAN » Sat Feb 08, 2014 11:31 pm

I wanted to extend my sincere gratitude to this team. First, for the amazing performance tonight. And second, for how they treated the fans following the game. My 10 year-old daughter stuck around for an hour to get autographs from the players. She interacted with most of the team and every single one of them was unbelievably kind to her. They all stopped to take photos and made this a very special night for her, and in turn, for me as well. Thank you for making this a night she will never forget.

That's adorable. As Larry said, I hope this happens more often

Seriously, we couldn't ask for a better situation. A great, exciting team, led by a tremendous coach, that by all accounts appears to be a great group of student-athletes.

I hope everybody is appreciating this because it is extremely special.

Larry Brown's coaching isn't just while on the court - he's teaching them how act off the court, too. Good on him. And them, too.
Don't worry. Be Happy. Or not.

We cannot thank the team and coaches enough. What a great group. Thanks to the students for being loud and proud. Even if you don't agree with all their cheers--they are showing up and fun to watch.
It makes sense to me.

LB has been a godsend to this university and everyone who supports us. Wish he was 43 and not 73 but let's enjoy this while it lasts.

Amen to all the previous comments.

LB has been such a great leader and role model for his team..... They have responded so beautifully on the court .... And now we see off the court.

Guys, this is a wonderful, once in a lifetime experience. You need to go to a game and support the team with your time and treasure.

Needs to be sent to Brown. They'd appreciate it and he would take the to read it. Always good to let people know. It'd be a shame if they stopped it next year. Real cool n unique tradition.

First off, welcome to PF!

Second, I have to say I think him being 73 is why this entire thing is working. He's at an age where, really, we shouldn't be worrying about him leaving. He's building a true winner right here and at this stage in his career, we're probably his last project. And the fact that we have an outstanding coaching staff waiting in the wings to take over when he's gone..all the while learning from one of the best..this situation seriously couldn't not be better for SMU.

We're so so incredibly lucky to have him, and I'm so glad this great man is proving a ton of us (on this board, at the DMN, in the national media) wrong on all accounts.

Umm, if he was 43 he might have already left by now.

I'll take the 73 year old LB. My bet is he stays for awhile.
