Band Drum Line - Cool

Postby AustinPerson » Mon Feb 10, 2014 1:38 pm

Maybe there have been extensive comments about this already. It's hard to read through all of the posts. But great idea with the Mustang Band drum line. Big fan of it. Kind of like the Mavs games with their little drum line.

Something I have never seen at a college basketball game. Good work.

It was a surprise, and the students doing the SMU dance all together was even better!

I do like the trumpets in the stands for the 'call to the post' or whatever.

They had the drum line (the real marching drums) in the logeish part of the southwest corner Saturday night.

I only heard them play once. Didn't really understand why they were there but hey, live and let live.

They put the full drumline in the open loge area just to the left of the band and above the student section where Sigma Chi & SAE usually stand. It was nice.

I thought it was a good addition, too. The drum cadences kept the noise level up during the timeouts.

The Mavs drum line has been around for a while. It used to bug me but I've come around on it. I always thought it was more of a college thing rather than pro. I can see where it could be a great way to get the students/crowd going at Moody.

I heard them play several times. It was a great addition.

Moody was very loud on Saturday, my ears are still buzzing. So I wouldn't doubt that some people would not have heard them.

Also, not sure how many people get the Godfather reference by the band.
