SMU is living right. Hope we get this kid! Watched Mickey Mitchell's "Ball is Life" youtube basketball highlight video, seems very active, very creative, and very unselfish. Plays a little like Jason "White Chocolate" Williams with mad ups, looks like the guy can jump out of the gym! Every highlight video has him driving to the basket and either dunking or dishing with style. Didn't look like any of his highlights were of him shooting the ball. The kid is not afraid of taking the ball to the rack! Could be an exciting addition to our Class of 2015. Big things are happening on The Hilltop! Go Mustangs!

He's a really great player, would be rated higher if no ACL problem. I posted about him in the "Basketball recruit on football board" thread

Nevermind I just looked it up. Tore it in '12. That's a bummer but athletes are coming back stronger than ever from ACL injuries these days

I think their going after D.J. Hogg at the small forward as their first option for now. ACL situation might be a slight concern.

Not an issue anymore, but simply pointing to his ranking being a bit lower since he missed a lot, analysts didn't get to see him. He's a monster this year though, triple-double. Still holding out hope Matta can keep him, would love to see him at the 2/3. Going to be a battle going forward on what was a no-brainer.

He's better than Hogg, I expect Brown to make a big push on Mickey if he does end up wanting to stay closer to home. Incredible athlete, like I said, averaging a triple-double in big time basketball, almost unheard of at the high school level.

How is he defensively? We should have a lot of scholarships to give in 2015, Hogg and Mickey shouldn't be mutually exlusive

Is he still playing for Plano West this year?

Defense is good. With basketball recruiting, you gotta really pick the "right guys" for your system. It's not like football, you can't afford misses. That's why so few ships go out every year. So they will likely recruit the #1s until they are off the board, then turn the page to someone else. Like I said, you just can't afford to miss like you can with football with such limited schollys. I think my favorite trait is his passing. Just absurd for a guy his size. This tape shows it all, he's just a great athlete with unbelievable coordination that most simply don't have. I would check it out if you aren't familiar with him, well worth the watch if you like basketball at all. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DR_jLnSFWrM

I've seen them both play. They are both great but Hogg is more athletic. Problem with prestonwood is they don't play as great competition so hard to compare

Watch em in the summer on the circuit. I've seen them both as well at various tournaments, Hogg is more athletic no doubt. Better all-around basketball player is Mitchell though. He's a match-up nightmare at the next level, can't guard somebody that's 6'7 and handles the ball like he does. And he can play inside and out.

Yeah, dude can flat out ball, and that's sophomore/freshman film. His freshman film looks more like a top 10 senior.
