Obviously in football schools camps are very important to identify potential players/recruits but how does it work in basketball. I've always thought that kids that have any kind of chance to play basketball in college are pretty much locked into an Aau team by the time they are in middle school/9th grade? Just wondering if this is important in the recruiting process or if it's just something that would be cool to do as a kid because why not take the opportunity to be coached by our staff.
This is all about building a fan base and getting people involved with the program. As you mentioned, when it comes to recruiting basketball kids, most of the good ones are locked in the AAU circuit and you recruit them at special camps/tournaments from a very young age. AAU is driving the process more and more now a days.
