SMU gear

Postby Ponyneighbor » Tue Feb 11, 2014 6:05 pm

Someone (nike, smu, other) is leaving a ton of money on the table right now by not offering any quality SMU merchandise either online, on campus or at Moody. What little is available is a joke. As best I can tell, it is literally impossible to buy an SMU basketball jersey anywhere, nor can you find any of the standard nike gear offered for many of the top programs. I recognize we are pretty new to the limelight, but I'm still surprised no one has capitalized on this opportunity yet.

Couldn't agree more. I hate going to the Nike store and always seeing them selling TCU gear on our turf. Only place I ever manage to find SMU apparel is the bookstore, CVS, Walmart and Target. And sometimes Finish Line. Someone needs to take advantage of this opportunity. I actually would kill for a chance to buy the official game ball with the pony branded on.

Ha-ha
I had to make my own button with a color-printed image and scotch tape - went nicely with the lapel pin...

A few weeks ago I asked the SID in a post about jerseys, and this is what he said;

Problem is that Nike doesn’t provide blanks or make replica jerseys – same issue with football. They stopped producing. They even cancelled the Fanatics.com order for the season. It’s a point of contention for us, but not much we can do right now.

There is an area of Lima that specializes in making shirts etc. Labor is very cheap (not as cheap as China) and the quality is very good.. If somebody had an idea of what to make, sizes, colors etc. I could probably have them made here. Don't know about the licensing issues but might be worth looking into. If there is any interest pm me as I am going to Lima the end of this month to buy several boxes of cubanos.

Plenty of SMU gear is out there, more than ever, really. Just little to no SMU bball-specific gear.
Everyone hold your horses and you can buy an SMU NCAA tourney t-shirt in a month. :)

Why is it wearing the tshirt of the band you are going to see is looked down on, but wearing the tshirt of the team you are going to see is almost required?

Thanks, but I don't understand his response. You can get jerseys from about 50+ schools on fanatics.com right now (though not smu).

I found an SMU window sticker at a truck stop halfway from Decatur to Wichita Falls. Bought it.

Buy here:

http://www.footballfanatics.com/COLLEGE ... tangs_Mens

I got a few wardrobes' worth for Christmas . . .

My favorites that I got are these:
- Nike SMU Mustangs Woven Full Zip Performance Jacket - Royal Blue
- Nike SMU Mustangs 2013 Dri-FIT Sideline Coaches Performance Adjustable Hat - Royal Blue
- SMU Mustangs Men's Gameday Sport Watch with Stainless Steel Band

Although now I see some newer stuff they have that I'd like to get my hands on, like a new iphone cover and golf glove looks sweet.

Can get any SMU gear pretty much anywhere on the Internet. I don't get the issue.

Give it a little while...when we keep winning and possibly make the tourney, the demand will be higher

Agree with Ojai. It's not that difficult to find cool SMU stuff to wear. You guys are just lazy
