LB National Coach of the Year

Postby Duke Blue Blood » Tue Feb 11, 2014 11:56 pm

It is not because of this the Cincy win, but that win has certainly helped start the conversation of Larry being coach of the Year. If you look at the turnaround he has had, why not? Certainly some other very deserving coaches like Gregg Marshall at Wichita State, but if he can keep winning he has a chance.

Certainly in the conversation. Already mentioned by several national columnists.

Wichita St had a great year last year. We were 15-17 last year. If we can make a run in the NCAAs Larry has to be in serious consideration

Texas, Wichita State, San Diego State.....

All of these programs have a history of winning. We were a program our OWN PLAYERS said on film that players knew to stay away from. We took a chance on a guy that had bypassed by everybody and was willing to 'take a high school job' and now people are fighting for tickets and every college's message board I've been on for two days (and I've been on a bunch) has said 'we don't want to play there.'

Absolute 180 degree change in the program from top to bottom by a guy who was called nationally a 'gimmick.' If we keep up the pace we are going THERE IS NO OTHER CHOICE.

Wichita St has beaten one ranked team all year, #12 Saint Louis. Not that impressed.

As you shouldn't be. Temple would likely win the Missouri Valley this year.

Hands down Larry Brown should be "National Coach of the Year". Given our record last year, our history, all of our transfers, the quality play of our freshman, and even having a former starter choosing to leave our program (good riddance, what a joke). No one is better than the team. All of our players have bought into Coach Brown's system. One heck of a coaching job! Seems like a lock! Larry Brown has changed the culture at SMU. Go Mustangs!

I wish Wichita St. played more quality teams; they are a fun team to watch. They certainly wouldn't be undefeated, but they could do plenty of damage in the AAC.
