We did not lose to UCF, it was USF. Still not what we wanted but not as bad as UCF.

I wrote the sports desk an email. Losing to a team that is 2-8 in conference otherwise isn't good, but it doesn't sound nearly as bad as being the only conference win for another team.

Teams that have a reputation also have a reputation to defend (see also: Shipp, Brett). Not that we should go searching the internet to correct any perceived error or slight, but I think it's worthwhile to do what we can to make sure easily verifiable facts are correct. The casual college fan is going to read that and assume it's correct.

Forgot to discuss what frustrated me even more about the article than the UCF blunder. While our fan support was bad for so many years, the article used the 2010-2011 season out of context to make us look even worse as a fan base. I loved a lot of the guys on that team because they were solid representatives of SMU, but that had to be one of the worst 20-15 teams in recent memory. That was the year of 19 (19!) home games. The year we played McMurray on the road! Think of what our RPI must have been that year. That was not the fault of the fans for not showing up. SMU was not putting a valuable product on the court.

I found the old schedule:

2010-11 SMU Men's Basketball Schedule
Fri. Nov. 12 Arkansas - Little Rock 8 p.m.
Tue. Nov. 16 at TCU 7 p.m.
