Nic Moore will be here through graduation. He would have to average 25 PPG to even sniff leaving early for the NBA.
Back off Warchild seriously.

It was a means to get an answer. Starting the thread not as absurd as the above useless comment. At least I had a purpose to my efforts.

Not everyone on here is an informed poster (most aren't), just because somone posts something doesn't make it true.

Yes, Mudiay and Moore will start in the backcourt together next year. Yes, when Mudiay leaves Moore will still be here and run the point. Barefield will be the backup PG we so deseparatley need and then be the heir apparent at PG after Moore's Sr year.

Thanks for the response and the input from everybody. I know it seemed ridiculous.

Moore is very close with Tim Jankovic so as long as he is here I think he would stay.

I figured because of their connection regarding Illinois State. I do think he may have some sort of role at the next level. Reminds me a lot of JJ Barea.

Ok so people don't realize there are a lot of professional options in basketball besides the NBA. I don't think nic moore leaves early because he probably wants to learn as much as he can from LB but i'm sure he wants to be a professional basketball player. He is a good enough player that he could probably play overseas for a while if he wants to.

If you go and look at the teams in Europe there are a lot of places you can go and make a very decent living (not ridiculous but better than entry level positions for some one coming out of college). the professional leagues of spain, France Turkey Greece, ect are all full of american players who are very good but just aren't NBA material for whatever reason. Nic Moore is a good player but he doesn't have the finishing skills to score inside against NBA level talent (he struggles with this part of his game at SMU) and he is a good but not amazing shooter. He would also be a defensive liability against the myriad of 6'4 point guards in the NBA. He can play professionally if he wants it just won't be in the NBA.

I think we need to get out of the mindset that every McD/AAm is a one and done prospect. This is D1 basketball so lets see how they perform against college talent before making assumptions. As far as Nic leaving early I'm sure LB will tell him yay or nay.

Anyone that thinks Nic is going anywhere is out of his mind. How is this even a thread. This noob that bought tickets next to my seats at the Cincy game was bemoaning what would happen if Nic, Markus, and Keith jump for the NBA after this season. Just because we are barely cracking the top 25, doesn't mean all of our players are suddenly NBA ready. That is the hardest professional league to carve out a career in.

Right on in that there are many proffesional options aside from the NBA, specifically overseas. Its just that you don't leave school early to play overseas (unless you can't stay elgible academically).

Moore is not going anywhere until his eligibility is through, 5 9 pg's are not at a premium in the NBA. Look at Shabazz Napier at Uconn (I am also a uconn fan since I was a kid)....Bazz is a 4 year player and going to be an All American yet he wont be drafted in the first round. Ryan Boatright who is more talented than Moore and has similar numbers would not be drafted if he left this year.

As Malachi said, its funny to see that we have a little success and our fans think our roster is full of NBA players.

Ben Moore is the best NBA prospect on the roster right now. Not counting Mudiay who is a guaranteed lottery pick.

I think Kennedy is the best NBA prospect at the moment. Not saying he should go pro this year or anything like that.

Be patient with the probable friend/family member of Nic Moore who started the thread...

No one's bagging on Nic Moore and we all appreciate him and know he's incredibly important for the team. No matter who LB brings in, there will be a spot for him. If the program is going to improve and, God willing, compete for a NC someday, we have to upgrade talent at every position. That's not a knock on Nic Moore or anyone else on the roster. I'm guessing Nic Moore wants talent upgraded and he's not afraid of competition

He probably makes more at SMU than he would in the D League.

I was mainly curious because of all the posts I have seen anticipating next years starting line up. They all mentioned Mudiay at starting PG. I would not be shocked if he shares the back court as a SG and we can run the offense through a him in a high pick and roll... I was curious if there was something I did not know about his prospects in future years.

Has anyone ever left early to play in the D League? (if they have the grades to stay in school)

He won't leave early. He and Mudiay will both start next year which is a scary good backcourt. We need someone to step up at the 3 - whether it is Sterling, Keeeeeeeith, or someone new remains to be seen. With Moreira, Kennedy, Cunningham, Ben Moore inside and the remote possibility of Myles Turner or other recruits, we have great front court depth next year (even without adding Turner or anyone else)

You are misunderstanding me. I too thought the sound of him departing early sounded absurd. I agree the 3 spot needs to be filled with either KF or Brown I was just confused because all of the posts I read were leaving Moore out. Wanted to make sure there was not an underlying uniform cause for this that I was not aware of.

Got it, carry on
