Along that line, what do you suppose will happen if for instance Temple gets hot (or another lower tier) and wins the Conference Tourney? Do we get 6 or who is the odd man out?

We get 6 in and a bubble team from a lower tier conference is out.

Good question. Currently, none of our five at-larges are on the bubble so I think we'd get six in the tourney. Worst case scenario for teams on the bubble is when a Temple type team wins their conference tourney. That takes a spot from one of the bubble teams.

Which leads me to say the UCF game looms pretty big. Another bad loss and 2 upcoming top 25s could bring back the curse of the Mustangs. I feel great right now but would sure like to close out an undefeated season at home as a worse case.

Here's your clue about who's most probably in the right on a particular topic. Look to who is citing facts and who is calling people names. The former is most probably the guy to listen to. I appreciate X's commentary here -- and I appreciate Stallion's contributions. But one is clearly much more in the know than the other. And the other doesn't know when to admit defeat and move on.

I do not see the argument other than they apparently do not like each other. Stallion does not say everything is legit. He just cites the rules. Hoopmanx says the rules are often broken. The rest is jibber jabber.

I am sure that LB is dotting "i's" and crossing "t's" in his recruiting efforts. SMU knows that it will be under a huge microscope for any Top 100 hoops signing as does LB. We all know that in the modern world of hoops recruiting there are these "coaches", "handlers" and "friends" of players that seem to have more sway over the player than his parents or high school coaches. Ask Gary Williams about that. Its part of the landscape. And the NCAA has shown a reluctance to get into the middle of that cesspool. After all, the NBA is itching for a chance to get the one and dones back again. So, if we get in trouble does that mean UK, KU, UConn, WVU, Georgetown, Florida, Memphis, Baylor, UNC, Pitt, Syracuse and Duke join us in the dock?

Not sure what you mean. "One-and-done" was created by the NBA, not the NCAA.

Yeah, just like the whole SWC got the "Death Penalty" in the 80's.

For the record, I think we're generally oversensitive about the compliance issues. Maybe we'll get some increased scrutiny, but I don't anticipate anything serious coming of it.

Ummm, one big unofficial this year was from a kid under my company's, specifically my departments, thumb. Just saying.

I think he's a lottery pick that will be light on production in college. He's not really an alpha kid, just highly skilled. I also don't like the idea of the glare SMU will get by having two top 5 kids, especially one that never listed us..

Even if that is the case, I still think there is some merit to having alums in the NBA as kids look up to those players. It helps with recruiting players and t-shirt fans.

No doubt, I just worry at what cost. Slow and steady wins the race

I've always thought the regular season champ should be the automatic qualifier for the NCAA. Instead of somebody getting hot for 3 days getting the automatic bid to the dance. . . Especially for lower end conferences like the SWAC, MEAC, Horizon, Colonial, etc. Actually think it should be used across the board including the AAC, ACC, Big 10, Big XII, SEC. . . After that start filling in the bracket according to the RPI, BPI, etc.

Wasting key strokes. He's clearly a big get for any program, but you won't be able to convince many on here that he won't average 20 and be the key to cutting down nets April. He's a thin 11 ppg box score alumnus in the making. Hope he ends up in red/blue, but then he'll be a red/blue 11 ppg box score alumnus.

And you weren't there-you said just the other day you have not been back in Dallas in awhile. As far as the rest of your comments-once again you ought to shut the hell up. But then again maybe you are too ignorant to figure out why
