We have:
Baylor - weekend of September 23rd
UNC - weekend of September 30th
Kansas - weekend of October 14th
SMU - Weekend of October 21th
Only his trip to Indiana is still unscheduled though he will take an unofficial to Texas

That's HUGE. Dude lives down the street and he's taking one of his official visits to the Hilltop! Go get him, Coach Tubbs!
And if he commits to Baylor, the NCAA should set up an extra office in Waco. (That's no offense to JudgeC and SicEm, and the other supportive Baylorites on this site -- good school, yada yada yada, but there's no way that many top-flight players suddenly want to leave cities for a rebuilding program.)

If Arthur commits to SMU, it could convince other high profile players to choose SMU. Let's hope Arthur sees SMU as an opportunity to be the focal point of an offense. At SMU he gets his touches and shots. Get him commited Tubbs.

I still say he goes to Kansas. The rumors are starting to get louder. Bill Self is a master recruiter.

This is a good sign. I would love nothing more if SMU becomes a bball school.
I'm just about done with Mustang football

Hell if we became a good enough bball school we might be able to get enough revenue to improve the football team, and then start bringing other sports back.

On a side note, anybody need a patent attorney?

Otto, I don't know where Arthur winds up, but it's not out of the realm of possibility that he would want to play at Baylor with his former HS teammate, Kevin Rogers.

Yes it is. Play with Rogers again? Sure. In Waco? I smell a huge rat.

The only way SMU is to improve its basketball team is to upgrade its facilities which is something SMU has refused to do. SMU should have upgraded its facilities immediately after the break up of the SWC. SMU's lack of a commitment to Division 1-A athletics kept us out of C-USA the first go around. If Tubbs keeps whiffing on the local recruits (i.e., Rogers as mentioned above), you can attribute some of it to the lack of quality facilities our competition has. If Copeland cannot get the facilities upgraded, it is time to get an AD in here that can.

A better facility would help, but not entirely. If the building matters, how does gonzaga do it? I mean, even Cameron isn't that great, but the team makes up for it in spades.

Facilities be damned...if we pull Arthur, Kelvin Lewis, Donald Sloan and Odufuwa that is the building blocks of a solid program right there.

If we pulled that kind of class, we'd be winning a lot and Moody would be packed.

Maybe so. Too bad we only have half that many scholarships available. If Arthur is still interested in the spring, another one may be open then. But we'll only sign 2 in the fall period.
Try not to choke on the Kool-Aid.

We probably won't get a chance to sign all four...but I think there is a player or two that we could comfortably lose on the current squad in order to get Arthur or Lewis a spot.
