Did say basketball tailgating will be in the planning / cards for next season.
Cool. Of course, I haven't been to the new Moody yet, but isn't there some room INSIDE the building to have that sort of thing?

Worth every penny. Great 'tailgate.' Top level of Moody Garage will be empty. Just go up there. My crew did it before the opener.

Ah, so there's a place but only for red seaters. No open lobby / concourse area? Bring it inside the building is what I say to ensure folks get there early and then can be "ushered" in / closed off 15 minutes before intros.

There really isn't much room to spare in Moody. It flows great for 7,000 or so people, but there isn't just space where everyone can camp out and drink and eat.

I was referencing the weather in regards to tailgating, but if you want get a game going outside, I'm in - half court only, and make it take it.

Oh now, that's good. Would anyone say anything to us if we just brought a couple of chairs and cooler with food and some beer and wine and sat in the grassy area outside Moody?

That was our proposition last year and Turner's office vetoed it after the AD guys ok'd it. Just depends on who sees you.

Agree that roof level of Binkley garage should be a no brainer. Also, the very lowest level if you have that pass. I really hope to see someone test the waters on Saturday, so that Wednesday numerous folks might be able to crank it up. Ask forgiveness rather than permission.

I really think you would be fine as long as your not a college aged fraternity group. I doubt they would bother alums that are being respectful and not blasting music. As for the garage idea, I noticed a few in the garage boozing behind their cars with a couple of chairs before the houston game. good idea

Thanks for the feedback. So it seems to me there are three keys to openly tailgating in the grassy, treed area just to the southwest of the main Moody entrance: 1) No fires; 2) Red cups instead of open displays of beer cans or wine bottles; 3) Self control -- no drunken behavior. In other words, maintain a bit of a low profile and we'll be fine.
